I just read the other day that the coolant used in those late liquid cooled G5's is especially toxic. I did have one for a while, but luckily it didn't leak - gave it away to another Nekochanner a couple years back.

I'm in the U.K.
We've got a guy at our work doing tech support who collects euro power cables that come with new PC's.
Instead of throwing them away, he strips them down to copper and sells the copper to metal merchants.
Apparently if you give them the power cables you get less for them than for just the copper.

Just curious, No one else drives two monitors?

ivelegacy wrote: I might have a plan for that Macintosh :
- remove the mobo-68000, and the VDU
- directly interface the CRT
- put an LC475-68040 mobo inside
- interface the LC475 video to the CRT (and adapt it, in case of need)
- put a 10Mbit lan on the mobo
- put my gentoo/m68k stage4 on an internal SCSI HD, or a debian-68k
- hack the first stage boot loader, and "bless" it with something that can load linux
- enjoy the yet an other text linux box (extremely good as … text console for Irix)
oh, well, and I am happy because I have sold out 2 SUN boxes (HD boxes) like yours
(honey money, 20 euro for 2 boxes, I can buy a lot of candies now )

ivelegacy wrote: Audigy2 ZS should be compliant to PCI/5V (perhaps 5V tolerant?)
What is not clear to me if it has been really tested on IP30/Octane2 with success.
three levels of compliance
- 1) hardware side, IP30, XIO_PCI_shoebox
- 2) firmware side, IP30 mobo, the last revision of everything
- 3) software side, more specifically if Irix v6.5.27 is enough
oh well, then there is the Application side, where I'd like to hear a few WaveEditor Apps. The provided links above sometimes works, sometimes is broken, Yesterday I had success for just 40 seconds, so I just read a list of "something" but then the page disappeared again, next time I will save with Firefox

So it's like six pence in a pie, 12 shillings in a sixpence, four pounds in a litre and half a gallon in a haypenny ?
I never could get that English money thing straight
