when LINUX came out, well when I first got to use slackware, I have always called it LINE-UX, whereas most call it LIN-UX (they are probably right), but I think LOOOON-IX is possible the best one.

ivelegacy no doubt has a problem with English and coming across in the right way to get humour or his point across. He and I have had a few erm.. slightly harsh discussions, but I've learnt that no matter what, his humour is utter crap, nothing he says is intentionally awful and he never means any harm.

If TeamBalckFox wants a Phillips G700 to run iOS on it, then that's what he wants, and the problem stems from to many people stating you should do it this way or you don't need this etc, when the guy has decided what he wants and wants to give it a bash full stop. Nothing wrong with advice, but sometimes people want to just do things.

Some people on here have little sense of humour and seem to take this outdated hobby we all have far to seriously.

Team.. relax and chill.. ivealeg.. going to Oxford is not going to help.. I suggest you put your comments in some form of <happyTag> </happyTag> so people know how to take you.

Received today via ebay, EF2000 by DID (possibly the best FS in the world ever.. well I remember it that way).

So I've built a 5x86 at work Cyrix thingy with ISA BNC Network, S3 Video 2x 2 GB drives and 1Mb of Ram(or is it 640k) so far. Haven't installed MS DOS yet, I have 6 at hand, but I have IBM Dos 7.something in the loft.

Also will try it in Soft Windows, then there's DosBox & possible Residual? An exciting evening lies ahead to be topped of at Midnight by England Vs Japan in the Womens World Cup!!

So I placed an imaged drive into another octane, booted up fine, changed all the lmhost entries, but launching maya displays:
Cannot run Maya, Unable to locate the license server.

So I suspect that there is an entry somewhere along the line that tells flexlm to point to itself?

BTW, the original machine was licenced that the source drive was taken from.

Do any of the other SGI boxes boot?
If so (hopefully other Octanes), use those to mount the disk from the primary Octane.

On that screen type printenv and look at the first boot up disk



x tells you the drive bay it is trying to book from.
