Apparently the new features aren't exposed in the old subsilver2 theme, so it will look and act the same. prosilver scales with smartphones/tablets as well which is a big feature for me.

out of curiosity, did the previous version cause trouble? or some security issues?

Mostly just need to keep it up to date for security purposes. You really can't count on them to maintain the older codebase going forward.

Not possible; the architecture isn't compatible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I pay all the bills here, and I'm going to do what makes it easiest for me. If you don't like it you're free to go somewhere else; I keep this site up as a courtesy, not because it gets me the ladies.

I'll just lock this if it's just going to turn into a crapfest - I have better things to do with my time.

I found one german that said on his site that he has some left, altough the entry is ten years old, so i contactet him.
He meant that he moves around and the cpus/eproms/etc lays somewhere and he takes a look when he finds time.

Its some time now, i think i contact him and see....

And the base 300 Mhz cpus and board you can purchase here .

'edefault' was the last to create a batch of these upgrades as far as I recall - doesn't look like he's logged in for a couple of years though.

Close :) The last motherboard was a D525 (had D510 & 230 boards even earlier on, there are some old threads on this). This is a J1900.

I would have gladly hosted a nekoware mirror if the whole thing went through.

Both. I ran two very loud O350s towards the end, and dealing with the noise and the increasingly difficult to keep up to date PHP/Apache/MySQL was getting out of hand. Plus they weren't very speedy as web servers go.

The circuit is business class SDSL, but very expensive - $200 a month.

Yes, the power regulation failed on the D525. The previous boards were replaced because I wanted to try newer ones.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure neko_gcc has that library statically linked so people won't run into situations like this. I'd guess the package was compiled with a different gcc distro/self-compiled version.

Reminds me that around 15 years ago I posted a photo online of some gear I had set up on one of those tables. Wound up being ridiculed by a bunch of Brazilians on a Portuguese forum as owning "a crappy table" or some such (saw the referral links in the logs) :)

The reason those files were "missing" to begin with is that I never saw the original thread, and I simply moved the mysterious files out of /incoming (as they had no neko_ prefix) to my home directory until someone sent me an PM or something explaining what they were for. :)
