do you want PS/2 or USB? for PS/2 you can get a dell at101 (search for 227KN) on ebay for pretty low prices, it's not too loud although yeah louder than a membrane keyboard would be. For USB and a membrane (rubber dome) the SGI usb ones are pretty good, they're like $15 on ebay but are all ISO layout (105 key) if I remember. For a USB non-membrane keyboard the ABS M1 keyboard is pretty cheap on newegg.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
SGI one has some rubber parts on the switches that the dell doesn't

here's both of mine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v104/ ... ll_sgi.jpg and the alps switches http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v104/ ... _black.jpg

No it just feels softer.

I mod a site with vBulliten and upgrading between versions definitely causes weird issues. I like how the forum is now :)

Aside from the name of the site, picture at the top and about half the avatars there's not much really here about anime. I know there is an anime forum but it's never active.

I was talking to my friend today (who has an iphone) and he said the skype application only lets you use it over wifi and not over data connection. They think of everything don't they (he has unlimited data).

Sorry, if this is out topic, but: -can a Qube2 boot/run IRIX? This is new to me, and I'm curious. All the best,
Diego

No it can't but you can download vmware player from vmware's site for free.

Oh, well, I see. Sorry if it was a silly question; it already seemed to me very weird, since despite the fact that both were MIPS platforms, IRIX is very tied to the adjacent hardware. But good to know it anyway. Thanks!

Yes they are both MIPS however the implementations are different so it is not compatible.

Man that's a nice looking partitioner lol, other OSes could take a hint.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
I'm sure Quake3 would run faster on it than on any of SGI's graphics cards lol, granted you can't run 16 thousand heads off it though haha.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
I think you can get fried fried over there

If I were to put a number on it, probably around $2000 per year. The SDSL package I use allows self hosted servers and is pretty expensive at $280 per month, but I do use it for other things too. Power costs are fairly significant for the O350s as well.

If you're just looking to start a web site and aren't as hardcore about running your own hardware at home, I'm sure you can do it for much less at a hosting facility.

Holy smokes, a decent ISP seems expensive in the states. I guess it goes up a bit when you want a fixed IP and run a lot of traffic, but still.

Yeah if you want unblocked ports ISPs charge ridiculous money here, it's such a scam really. The ISPs do this under the guise of "helping customers" by "blocking possible spam senders" and "blocking trojans" but really it's just to make more money.

Bugatti Veyron is a devolution of the EB110 which was a great car into a trophy car. Ferraris are nice but their maintenance is ridiculously more expensive than other supercars.

Your keyboard might not like the signal codes the SGI ones use, I suggest getting another one.

They're probably used in applications that haven't been ported over to x86 yet.

I think libel and defamation mainly only hold up in places where there is still some sort of honour that families or places carry, US has none of that obviously.

Picked up a 712/60 cheap off ebay and it's pretty cool (and very very quiet). Maximum ram is 128MB so I might try to swap 2x16MB sticks to 2x32MB ones in the future but I haven't loaded anything on it yet. It does have the video ram installed which is awesome but I don't know how much it expands the capabilities.

Anyway I took 2 internal shots and have some external ones from the auction

I only have HP-UX 11.11 which would be really slow so I think I'll put NextStep on it instead :)

Those look pretty cool, I found a site with nice pictures, looks like it has HIL which kind of sucks haha. Also this page has some nice pictures of other systems.

I got new ram sticks so it's at the maximum 128MB and I found a 2GB drive randomly so I was able to install NextStep 3.3 on it.

I'll take it if you don't want it lol. I think those were mainly sold for computational computing (is that even a word) aka data processing, etc. I think there was some Itanium 3D software when they were first out (ZX2000,ZX6000) but died off when those were killed.

I tried to load it on my RX2600 but it didn't have like any of the drivers for it lol. Also it's very limited in what it can do compared to the 32 and 64 bit x86 versions.

I'd love to see POWER take over, coupled with a rebirth of Alpha, but I'm not sure that's going to happen anytime soon except for the big boxes (and even then Alpha is going to stay dead).

Well if it makes you feel better the latest Intel stuff has quite a bit of Alpha tech in it apparently...would be nicer if it was in an actual Alpha though haha.

Nvidia's last IA64 driver is ancient and requires a quite old kernel (I think 2.4) so you might be able to use it.
