Well...at the suggestion or rather request of my friend I finally got around to watching "Magical Pokan" which has a really obscure japanese title but that's what it's called here ...

Anyway, it's a stereotypical "girl comes to earth, needs to learn to live here" that about a million animes have played out but this time we get 4 girls instead of just one! Imagine that! Anyway, it's 12 episodes or 13 I don't remember and goes by quickly so it's worth the time spent to acquire it. Plenty of ecchi shots too, lol...seems it was made for that  anyway.

so I would like to recommend you Hikaru No Go, which is anime that attracted tens of thousands spectators.

Seen it, didnt really care for it.

awww, did you see Battle Programmer Shirase on youtube?

BPS rocks =^..^=, not as much as GiTS Stand alone complex 2nd GIG

BPS is much better than GiTS :P at least imo, it's kind of a loli hacker show, lol.

I'm watching Genshiken right now and it's pretty funny. It's got the otaku-culture humour in it which is pretty good I guess. I dunno what else to say really, it's short though, the main character is a pushover.

no computer stuff though :|

"The place promised us in early days" aka "Beyond the Clouds" is freaking awesome, one of the best things I've ever watched, period. It was really moving.

I also loved Castle in the Sky and Princess Mononoke. The Patlabor movies are pretty cool too if you're into police/detective type of shows.

Turns out I have none to add :P but they really are good.

Ninja Scroll is also awesome, forgot that one. X is pretty nifty too albeit kinda strange.

You could "cheat" and use an external PS just for the card if you really wanted to, my friend did that with his hard drive setup before 200W+ became common, although routing the cables inside might be a bit of trouble, but you could take off the bracket if need be, if you're not moving the computer you don't really need it.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
Very nice

I actually made some gradients in gimp to kinda emulate that look, lol, but with no stars...that wouldn't be hard to fix though.

hahhahahha, that's gold, nice find

Considering their performance, old PowerMacs do seem to hold their value relatively well compared to x86 computers, really odd but whatever.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
Any of you guys ever been able to get it to compile? Usually the errors I get say something about assembler and at that point I'm just like "I have no idea" so I've never really bothered to look into it much.

By the way: pkgsrc for HPUX works nicely. :)

I was actually thinking of pkgsrc last night, I was like "why not just give that a go"

Two of the better channels to lurk in for that are #pkgsrc and #hpux on freenode. The (only?) pkgsrc maintainer for HPUX is in both.

I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.

I've got 2 J5600s if you didn't notice my sig. 2xFXE 5GB ram in one and 2xFX10 3GB in the other

I'd take the C8000 over a Itanium system but I would like them both :P you know how that goes. You should pick up some better parts on ebay, some cheap stuff.

Yeah, it takes up every XIO slot in the octane though :/ aside from the pci card cage. Or well, that's one of them, I know there's the 2 x server and 2 monitor things, SGI makes everything confusing.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
I can't wait for it to use with my HPPA boxes, my FX10s are bitchin but I've got no software

also the sparc support will be cool, but in the 25 and 45 the PCI-E is whacked out so you can't use it anyway :/ Not like any of us have those to begin with  but O2 + new graphics would be sweet, man, turn on "show window contents" and it really shows the performance hit.

Those intellimouse opticals are actually really nice, shame to see one go like that. Maybe I should get another old mouseman and stick my right-click-is-stuck MX500's internals into it. Actually I have a 4-button mouseman coming my way...

deBug: I think they do like it heavy, I use some of the weights in my Logitech G5. I don't care if it's light as long as it feels solid, not like those razer pieces of crap.

If you can rotate the screens or use portrait resolutions with the DCD the Eizo 30" lets you split the screen in half and drive each side off a different input. Not sure if any other ones do that or not, I know the IBM 22" did something similar in one of the versions but each side would have been a 30" monitor...

I'll ship something outside the US for somebody I know on a forum, but not on ebay because troubleshooting a lost item is horrendous. For somebody I know on a forum that's not a big deal but for a random ebayer, ugh...

If you like romance school comedies you'll like Vampire Knight , if you like vampire dramas you might like it too as it's more in depth than other vampire shows I've seen.

Chaos:Head is airing now and is seriously awesome, it deals with a delusional kid who's caught up in a world with people who can make delusions reality and it's pretty wild. Seriously sometimes you don't know if something happening is 'real' or a delusion, pretty interesting.

I like Noein in the same vein, it deals with alternate dimensions and travelling between them, pretty cool stuff and it has a non-standard drawing style as well which makes it nice.

Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora is a show centering a young girl from a family of mages in a world where magic is real. She goes to a school in tokyo to go through training, meets somebody and yeah. It's a cute anime and you guys might like it although it's short and ends abruptly.

That's actually a cool idea, I thought about it before too as the CDs are not any normal standard but didn't know how to actually accomplish the task.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
My fujitsu 73GB 10k u160 80-pin drives are quite quiet. When you're doing a lot of disk thrashing they can be noisy because of the head jumping all over but other than that they're no louder than my 7200rpm sata/ide drives.
:Indy: :rx2600: :Indigo2: :Indigo2: :Indy: :Indy:
I just finished these two

Chaos:Head = was alright, seems like up to episode 7 or so they forgot they were in a 12/13 episode series and started rushing like crazy so the end kinda sucks. I thought it was kinda interesting, though.

Vampire Knight Guilty = Typical school romance stuff but this time with vampires! lol! Anyway it was alright but the last episode was a letdown lol, nothing happened. More of like 'life goes on' than anything, bleh. This is based on a manga aimed at girls by the way just so you know.

Started up Zoku Sayonara Sensei and it's pretty awesome like the original series was, I always recommend it to people and this one is still good. There were a few parts so far I haven't liked much but overall it's been great.
