after some testing, it sem slower thn the previous 2.45, tested with internal renderer...
but AO is more tunable, so i can have similar results with faster render.. but

where is yafray rendering option ???

yes of course the psu is an atx, when i switch on this system the psu blown.... serious smoke !!
this system have spend some time in water... really !

the movie was done with my nokia N95, so it's not easy to do with one hand :D i do not have (for now) parkinson !!

newer release are more slower than the previous....

but , when using AO, the new approx setting can be usefull to speed up some rendering vs raytracing
this is a gain :)

Origin 2800 16 R12k 400Mhz 8 Gb 5x32 Gb + 73, no gfx (SSE+Tram inside but no IO6G)
