The new Mac OS cant be installed on systems under 867Mhz even if the got a CPU upgrade. Unless you can get it to work. But jess didnt get it to work on her mac. G4 Mac with G4 Dual 1.6GHz CPU upgrade is what she's got.
Wow, that is basic.
Yup, WoW player here.
I got a lvl 30 Blood Elf Hunter on Antonidas.

I bought a sgi 230 (800mhz PIII). Go it fired it up... booted up to Red 7.1 and had login screen. Thinking I am NOT going to get in to snoop, thought I'd try logging in as root with no passwd... no success, so tried one more time as root and passwd as root

I think admins make it too easy for passwords. When I was back in school, our admin used the word hammer for the administrator password and for the bios password. He didnt even care if people had it really. He never changed it. I knew it from 9th grade till I completed school and it always been the same. Probably still is the same up to today.
Damn Thats High End, not entry level. My Entry Level Server is a Gateway 6400 with dual 1GHz P3 with only 256MB Ram and a 9GB & 18GB HDDs.
What Operating System are you planing to run on it?

High end for a home user. ;)

I can do better. But I got it for $50 back in January.
Why do people want to install Linux on SGI Systems for anyway? Same with Sun, Mac, HPPA, and etc. Why now save some money and hours by just building a PC and just install Linux on it. It looks the same on any other system.
Yea, it does help out a lot on the Nekochan Market Place.
Ghost in the Shell S.A.C 1st GIG
Ghost in the Shell S.A.C 2nd GIG
Ghost in the Shell Movies
Hellsing
Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop Knocking on Heavens Door
Only anime I been watching so far is Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex 1st GIG. I seen all the Japanese version of it. I watched all the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG in English.
I might be. But I dont know if I want too.
I did some reading that some people are using Server 2K8 with some add-ons as a Desktop (some call it Workstation) OS, instead of using Vista.
Sometimes I try to stay away from American girls.
OTAKUUSA and Newtype are pretty good. Get a free DVD and a poster with both of them. While Newtype you read it backwards, but OTAKUUSA is normal reading.
Damn. That sucks that Newtype is gone.
Wont SWAP help end the SSD life span sooner?
I think we might need captcha or something like that if we are going to get spam and other crap.
Aww, it was you that killed him off. Good. Just hope we dont get anymore.

Anyone else get an email like this?

I've not, but please don't post spam without editing the links out first. You're just doing their work for them.

Oh, sorry Neko
nekonoko wrote:
The reason you got spammed is that you're not hiding your e-mail address on your forum profile; it's visible to everyone. An automated e-mail scraper pulled the address, matched it to the domain it was found on and launched the spam.

That's why it's never a good idea to keep your e-mail in the clear like that. You should probably change your profile settings.

Will do, thanks Neko for the tip.
What brand is it?

Actually, it came out today. :)

Yea, I seen that. So umm na too lazy to edit my comment
The G4 MDD is a really nice machine. This website will help you out a bit.

I been thinking about getting a G4 Macmini. The only question I have is how X.5 runs on it. It will mostly be used for internet, dvd watching, music, and some typing.
When I do get it, I do plan on upgrade to 1GB. I didn't know the speed of the hard drive, so Im going to upgrade that too.

Heres a bit of an update.

More Ram has been ordered, but only 2x 512MB, so it wis 256MB shy of 2Gb :)

It also seems to be running a bit on the warm side, so I was wondering, could I adapt something like this to fit into the G4?

Someone did a water cooling mod on an older G4.

Might be hard to use what you want, you have to find some way to mount it and mount the heat sink onto the cpu. To me, it looks like too much work just to get it right. By what I can see in the inside of a G4 MDD. If you move your hard drives to the secondary hard drive bay. You might get away with mounting a fan to the heatsink of the cpu and if you have the extra cash, a pci slot fan might help out abit.
Somewhere on the internet, I their is a website , that someone changed his with some fans that he bought cheap. OR. You can mod a ATX power supply, put you will lose the 25v needed for the ADC on the video card.
Google around, cant find much but for people saying that it worked.

I have a POWERCOLOR RV6P-B3 Radeon 7000. Its a 64MB PCI Video Card. I want to flash it for my mac. Anyone here have had flash a video card for a mac that can help me out?

Edit - Questions
Almost all of my machines dont have a floppy drive to make a dos floppy to flash my video card. Only machine that has a floppy is a P3 compaq that I use to test hardware. Can I use a CD instead of a floppy?
These "End of the World" stuff is completely stupid. Its worst enough when people sell books and dvds on how to survive 2012 and over stuff like that. Its just the end of their calendar, not the end of the world.
I got a 1.25GHz eMac with the stock Combo Drive. When I insert a blank CD, it will eject it after a few seconds. Can it be a easy fix or do I need to replace the drive?
I end up changing the combo drive to a spare cd burner I had laying around. Yes taking the eMac apart is a pain. I thought I fired it after I put it back together, took it apart again, then found out I forgot to plug the power button back in.
I end up cleaning my mom's house, swept and mop the floors, did dishes, and did laundry. Taking a break right now then I'm going back to work cleaning.
