OTAKUUSA and Newtype are pretty good. Get a free DVD and a poster with both of them. While Newtype you read it backwards, but OTAKUUSA is normal reading.

Newtype USA isn't published anymore (last issue was February 2008) - it was owned by ADV and they've pretty much gone down the tubes. I don't really keep up with the english language magazine scene, so I really don't know what additional options are out there these days.

Personally, I'm a fan of the poster magazines like Megami, Dengeki Hime and Comptiq Heroines (Comp H's). You really don't need to know any Japanese to enjoy them
