Alas, as humans, we are permenantly dispappointed, we cycle round a "covet, crave, buy, regret" loop.

Look at the financial mess that consumerism has got us into. :)

Picked up a new MIPS based handheld, has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, it's rather cool.

The manual has this interesting entry at the end (page 57)...

Yes, a little PSP Go.

It doesn't do WPA2, but then neither does my Pismo with Airport.

It'll be interesting if they finally yield and provide a free dev kit like for the iPhone.

They said they'd drop the price to 10% of what it was.

I think the problem they will have is you can write as much code as you want, you just can't load it or run it on the PSP. :)

I've generally been more in favour of serial port solutions as they are "more portable" between different types of machines.

Hi, yes, I'm running a 76i with AIX 1.3.

I acquired my MCA ethernet and SCSI controller via the PS2 newsgroup and used your PS2/MCA website for valuable information and links.

We have a whole thread dedicated to AIX 1.3 on PS/2.

I've got AIX 1.3, 4.3.2, 5.1 and 5.3 running here. I've coded for them all. I also used to code for 3.2. I even use 5.3 in my current job.

Does any one have any experience creating Apple Help Books?

It looks like a pile of crap to me.

I can create the HTML viewable by Safari no problem, but try as I may I can't arrange it into a book recognized by Apple Help Viewer. Eg I have a directory XXXX.help/Contents/Resources and the various xxxx.plist files. Even if I take an Apple provided help book and just copy it into another directory the Apple Help Viewer just shows an empty page when I view it.

What is the point of a help viewer that can't view help?

I have copied the Bluetooth.help to another directory and it says

Code:
Help Viewer does not know how to handle the selected URL

The selected URL is: file:///Volumes/data/helptest/Bluetooth.help/

So there must be some external reference requirement to the directory?

( Tiger, Leopard )
Yes, it looks like you can't have standalone help books, they have to be within another bundle, and if they are in another bundle the user can't easily navigate into it. Sounds like it's not the medium to use for help unless it's help within an application, not help about an application.
Solution: a manpage! :)

Not from where I'm standing. My electricity bills only go north, similar for server farms. We will be seeing some major constraints powerwise in the not so distant future.

Yes it's better to use what you have than throw away and buy new, but mix that in with a consumer society that requires people to throw away and buy new and you have a problem.
