Japan

good read whether you agree with it or not :)

here's an excellent example of someone with little tolerance for social norms, poor grammar, and inflated sense of self worth, typical weblog angst. i like the description of "everyone's uncle", and "good morning!".

Wow, that guy has a lot of time on his hands... And sounds like he picked the wrong country to hang out in, being a vegetarian that's allergic to alcohol, and vehemently hates anime and smoking...

This person could show them the western way to do business and start up a vegetarian noodle hut or tea house... smoke-free of course.

posting such a long rant on a japanese-inspired (kotaku?) website probably isn't a good idea. I wouldn't go to guns&pickups random USA website and bash president obama or baseball or apple pie, now would I?

I thought they did that already. I thought anything refering to guns was typically the right wing side....

Bashing Apple Pie would be different though.

On topic though, one of my minimum standards for a cartoon is that the jaw also moves when the characters talk.

Its all true.

The mandatory party thing and hostess clubs, the screaming and office protocols ... actually most of the blog ... I agree with, totally... they exist.. I however just went with it.. None of it bothered me... at least not to the extent of the blog writer..
I am not a vegetarian, I didn't mind smoking.. I drank with colleagues at any request. I went to hostess clubs with the team.
I ate with the team often. I was accepted as much as an outside person could be. The Chinese guy and myself were still on the outside on somethings, but generally not that often.

Actually there are a lot of vegetarians in Japan... Just claim to be Buddhist, if you don't want to eat meat.

I thought Clutch Cargo was crap when I was eight years old :P

Interesting read but if he came to China he'd last about an hour. Japan is considered to be Heaven by foreigners living here. It's interesting to comtemplate what things would be like if Yamamoto hadn't screwed up at Pearl Harbor.
