IRIX and Software

Cool (open source) software you would like to see ported... - Page 8

I'd just like to see a newer version of OpenSSH, personally.

That's exactly what I'm after.

It the Mosh possible? https://mosh.mit.edu

"Mosh is a replacement for SSH. It's more robust and responsive, especially over Wi-Fi, cellular, and long-distance links."

Icon Catalog -> Media Tools -> Syntheditor

There's also Rosegarden 2.1

For really simple, I think you can use Midikeys to record.

There's more than that, but that's all the names I can remember off the top of my head. Cecilia ? What does Cecilia do ?
Juliet ! the dice were loaded from the start ...

this looked interesting so i gave it a shot. unfortunately these developers did not consider having anything else but glibc and gcc so even with gcc and quite some fixes it was a no-go.

I'd love to see a newer Amiga emulator ported. There's a very old version of UAE floating around, but it's quite dated and simple by today's standards (no real fullscreen support, and tweakable options are limited).

I wonder how easy it'd be to compile PUAE under IRIX. The source is here: https://github.com/voorhees1979/PUAE

I keep meaning to have a quick try myself, but haven't found the time yet. That and my porting skills are practically zero :(
Systems in use:
:Indigo2IMP: - Nitrogen : R10000 195MHz CPU, 384MB RAM, SolidIMPACT Graphics, 36GB 15k HDD & 300GB 10k HDD, 100Mb/s NIC, New/quiet fans, IRIX 6.5.22
:Fuel: - Lithium : R14000 600MHz CPU, 4GB RAM, V10 Graphics, 36GB 15k HDD & 300GB 10k HDD, 1Gb/s NIC, New/quiet fans, IRIX 6.5.30
Other system in storage: :O2: R5000 200MHz, 224MB RAM, 72GB 15k HDD, PSU fan mod, IRIX 6.5.30
Is Allegro available for Irix? 'Cause if it is, when I get an SGI system, I'd port Hi65, my very own Commodore 65 emulator . Yes, that's 65, not 64. ;-)

EDIT: Allegro is available for Irix! http://liballeg.org/stabledocs/en/build ... ix%20Notes
An updated version of Pidigin would be nice. Quite a few protocols don't work anymore (or obsolete) in the current Nekoware version.

Urgh, means i have to get my gear re-sorted for some nekoware development magic :|

Above all, some dedicated time to do this would be awesome. I have transferred many systems to my home address, I just need to choose the system and get the proper tools installed.

A friend of mine made a little tetris game back when we were in school (many years ago), uses ncurses so I don't think it would be too difficult...

Fix the Duke Nukem 3D port. Tested it last night. It crashes with some sort of overrun error.

The only despotify audio subsystems which have IRIX support is libao and gstreamer and these are old ports, which is meh.
