Alcohol Preferences - Page 1

What's everyones favourite poison? in my cases it's definetly Guinness followed by say some sorta irish whiskey (Powers to be preferred)
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better"
Guiness and Jaegermeister shots if I go out. Malbec or Cabernet at home.
Mmmnnn Guinness...

Mine is Bourbon whiskey on the rocks, preferably Maker's Mark.
Hmm,

kinda hard question. Prefered brain cell killers:

- cocktails (things like mai tai, long island ice tea and stuff)
- beer (guiness or all kind of dark beers)
- red whine (californian)

and for special moments there is this 12 year old bottle of jameson single malt.

I rarely drink except socially around holidays, but even then I stick with beer - Guinness being my favorite.

Seems Guinness is fairly popular here on nekochan(well i had 5pints of it lastnight myself :) ) , pity the Guinness ye get in america is so bad though. One way to spot an irish person abroad - they are always complaining about the quality of the Guinness

Brombear - Jameson 1780 (12year old) is one of my favourites but no Jameson whiskey is actually a single malt (very few irish whiskeys are, we tend to use alot of unmalted barley - "old pot still" whiskey)

I'm a good italian ... and I like & love my wines...

Wine: Italian Cabernet - born in my country..
Beer: Moretti (italian beer) or everything else...

RIP Baffo Moretti...

I've had Guinness in both Ireland and Denmark actually :) I think it got a lot better when they started adding that "rocket widget" to the bottles/cans.

Hi Dubhthach,

you are right I think. I do not have much knowledge about whiskey, but this one was recommend by a friend and I have not regret it. When my father visited dublin I ensured that this special item was on top of his souvenir list :) It is the 12years special edition triple distilled (whatever that means). Everytime I get a new order from my clients its time to enjoy a small glass of it. It is the best whiskey I've ever tried and I had a few good ones too.

That means that alcohol is separated from water three times
so that its content
goes from something like a few percent to as much as, ..huh, 90 I
think:)
Before that, you get barley (mostly starch), then after water mixing
the process makes sugar and after that alcohol. I think there is even
a special law in Ireland that says it is forbidden to give name
"Whiskey" to such product if that separated alcohol is not let alone
for at least three years...

..but that does not matter once you are dead drunk in some Irish pub :)
I hardly ever drink, but if I do:

- Amaretto with milk and ice
- Drambuie (yum!)
- G & T
- Kriek (Belgian cherry beer)

One of my favorites, but I must confess a taste for Gentleman Jack, anejo tequila and single malt scotch - Glenlivet at the moment. I drift around a lot between brands.

Yup!; pretty much the same!
Looks like dishwasher, and tasts as lemmon-dishwasher!

Intel-OUTSIDE wrote: for referance coors and miller-lite are simillar.

Yup; Miller-Lite is cool for me. I can't drink big quantities of alcohol anymore. Maybe I've abused of my stomach between my ages of 18~25 years... Oh, well... maybe too much night-parties! ;)

...too bad, I can't support a drink with more of 6 degrees now :(

I guess it is only the young peoples parties-effect!

or some Absolut vodka - the citrus one :D

Sure; Absolut is Absolutely Great , but not in the next morning, at least for me! :D
give me a tennants-super

Thats the Scottish equivalent of the magic potion from Gaul they used to feed Asterix and Obelix

Mixed with Eldorado (fortified wine) or Calsberg Special Brew you have a very drunk, indestructible, crazy person.

well in London we mix it with Dragon-Stout, a jamaican stout with about 8.2% alc.

the result is as john-shaft would say: "one bad motherfucker"

I just saw that again. The real one, with Richard Roundtree ... but it kinda loses some of it's punch dubbed into Chinese, ya know ? They have some odd stuff at the video rental store down the street
