I would name my SGI as "Chunky Tuna" when I can afford to buy one. Mainly due to the fact that I want to learn Flame (Flame logo is a fish)

Hi I am planning to buy Dell 30'' LCD UltraSharp (2560x1600). My only concern is that it needs DVI-D. I wonder this LCD screen is compatible with Tezro system V12, DM3, DM5 + BOB and can V12 graphic card support 2560x1600 high resolution? Thanks

wat if I use DVI-D to VGA adapter, would it work? Is there anyway that we can force IRIX resolution to 2560x1600 though V12 might not be able to?

thanks alot for enlightening me. It's sad to realize that even an most recent Tezro system is getting outdated through time and it's sad that SGI has dropped this platform. I gonna stick with 24'' then.

That ridiculously high DPI IBM display (or the rebadged ViewSonic version) was actually supported on the Tezro. Only on the rackmount version though as it is driven by four single-link channels, i.e. you need dual V12 pipes each with the DCD in place .. 3840x2400 on 22" - just sick

Can it be done in tower form Tezro? I wonder if we can plug in second V12 DCD in as well

There is no doubt that SSD is going to replace HDD technology in next decade. With the introduction of 1.6TB SSD SCSI Ultra320 interface, raised the question whether SSD can be used in SGI machines?

I used to use Sketchbook Pro for my freelance work. It's great software however I prefer Painter IX because it allows you to adjust brush effects and other parameters that SKB dont have.

I love the PRISM design case, there are so many air ventilation holes on the front panel (really similar with MacPro case design). Tezro case I guess is pretty cool, but not as practical and portable as Fuel

I like pidgin icon and the firefox logo overall. However I think it's not very nice and clean when you put on the desktop when a dense and detail icons
I attempt to adjust pidgin icon a little bit. Hope u guy like it

Refined folder icons that I created. Extract the 2 files fti and copy those 2 into /usr/lib/filetype/iconlib/ then just do "make" like usual

I have the same spec except only with 4GB of RAM. I gonna upgrade my RAM in the future to 8GB. Your case seems to be in very good condition with no scratch marks, great care you have
