This on-line store lists pens for the HP 7475A. I would imagine there are other sources, too. I just happen to have that one bookmarked from when I nearly purchased a pen plotter earlier this year. Supplies are out there!

Amazing! For anyone who's never seen a 7475a at work, it is no end of entertaining, there's a bunch of video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=HP+7475a&oq=HP+7475a

Similar thing here - a couple friends talked me into buying a Color LaserJet 8550N for $75 while my house was still empty. They thought it would be neat to be able to come over and make nice 11x17" color prints without having to make room for it in their own homes. :?

It's a fine printer with the duplexer, but it's huge - like a tall Onyx2 deskside. And some of the rubber rollers I haven't replaced yet are starting to misfeed...

I was thinking that you could add a Draftmaster to your garage so your friends could do a little e-size plotting while they are visiting. But that seems rather selfish. Perhaps you should replace that huge laser printer with a nice little inkjet ?

(I'd really like one of these so if anyone knows where there's a cheap one, I'd be happy to get it delivered to smj's house ...)
Desk arrived. It's a little bigger than I expected (nearly 3m), but the price was unbeatable (free). I also got two cupboards for storage of parts with it (free as well :) )

There's still a fair bit of work left and I haven't even begun to wire the place ...
Now this is a deep dark secret, so everybody keep it quiet :)

6 racks and couple Tezros and you won't be able to swing a cat. Been there... Not the cat thing, the 6 rack thing.

I'll try to take a better picture some time :) Haven't figured out where to put the DMedia breakout and assorted stuff yet, though. Storage is mostly FC so will probably end up in the 19" rack.

That's why I have desksides. Same challenges [pun intended], but more manageable in terms of space, power, heat and noise. More fun per square meter, in the end. I once considered replacing my Onyx2 deskside and the SGI 2100 I used to have with an Onyx2 rack to save floor space. Bad idea: the tall rack takes the same amount of floor space as two desksides (and is 3x taller, of course).

I've got 25 square meters to myself for my hobby, and that will have to do. It's also my escape from a house cluttered with kids toys and other joys of family life. If this room would be packed until I wouldn't be able to 'swing a cat' I think I would go insane. Better to maintain some discipline and keep only stuff worth keeping ;)

Thanks! I will be taking more as work/cat allows... Have made some before, but before the ninja they all had a
lot of misalignments due to parallax shifts. In case it's not totally obvious, it's a stereographic projection of a 37 image stitched panorama (I use a 14mm lens so quite few pictures). Original resolution is just over 12000x12000 pixels.

Free actually :) It's used and quite ugly. I had to buy new legs though since the old ones were to short, but that was only about 3-400 dollars.
