I have the above 9 track tape drive (a couple are on ebay at the moment) and I can't find any documents on the internet on how to hook it up and use it.

It has the cable for P3 which appears to be a 25 pin serial cable (not all pins are there).

Anyone have any experience with one?

I've found the specs for the P1 and P2 interfaces on the back but haven't found the P3 specs. My tape drive shipped with that 25 pin cable connected to the P3 interface/port.

Yes, go the dry method. You can get some graphite in a little tube and squeeze (blow) it into the wheels.

It used to be sold at hardware stores to silent noisy door hinges.

I took Pascal back in the 80s while in school and then later when Turbo Pascal came out for Windows. I really like the language but sadly only do some Python coding to support the commercial software we have a work. I'd be interested in any progress you make.

For the record, I have two IRIX ADA CDs: 1) ADA95 Compiler 1.1 (says GNAT_dev 1.1 and GNAT_eoe 1.1) and 2) Workshop ADA Extensions 1.1.

I acquired them a long while ago when a friend was going to do some coding in ADA but that project fell through.

I haven't tried to install them so I don't know what if anything might be missing.

I'd be happy to send them to someone who will provide a better home and use them.

I happen to have an under-utilized Octane 2 with Dual 600Mhz cpus and 7 Gb of ram.

I'm doing a little computer downsizing so make me a huge offer on those 6-1Gb sticks and they can be yours.

I have an Onxy Deskside but I'm not looking to sell at this time. I still need to get around to testing some graphics boards in my accumulation.

Just spent a couple of hours figuring out why my G5 no longer talked to the outside world ( I could ping internally). Resetting the PRAM took care of the problem and now I'm surfing the web and looking for PPC software I can install. I was able to download Blender 2.63a and get it working, now I just need to learn blender.
