i've one o2 RM5200 @300...[my o2 was one of the R7k recalled]

i'm interested in your post.. and a bit of power would be great..
so test after test.. have you checked the termal differences between
r7k@350 and your 400-600mhz monsters?

i've a dumb question

i've a sgi 18.1" tft monitor with dual imput
would be great to connect two sgi's to it
and set teleffect
so with the imput button on the monitor and only one kybo and mouse
i can fully use two machines

theorically can be do that?

i was mad after my first irix install from 6.3 to 6.5
at reboot
never worked

but the hardest part of the work it's

partition the drive with fx
and start the inst procedure

after that steps
you must only wait
and you'll easy get a configured system

on linux you'll get better feel
only if you have a standard system
and you don't need configure specific hardware by hand

i have a toshiba dvd on my o2 r12k@400
it's not a mod but the facory setup of one of the last o2 produced

if you want i can take some photos
to see how it's setup-ed

on my other o2
i've replaced the fried old one
with a plextor
in that case some mods are required
but the results it's awesome

and put on it the o2 bezel it's relly simple

1- use a 50pin -68pin self terminated cable and a 50 pin ext enclosure
2- sgi makes external cd for octanes

all have internal psu except cdrom one
