Hmm I think your best bet would be the ACARD SCSI to IDE bridge, then a CF to IDE, one the IDE side of the ACARD
Got this working on an Apple 6100/66 , so it should, without a doubt work on a SGI indigo , or Indy

Interesting that this got brought up. Imagine if Sgi still utilized MIPS , perhaps R20K cpus well over the 2GHZ mark.... (I never really liked a wintel box)
Irix 7 might have gone the same route as MacOS.. bubbled up, eye-candied up.. pwetty...
And if prices were competitive or equal to what Apple offered , then perhaps Sgi might still have the upper hand today in the graphics world.

Baiscally its a Intel 5000P ( http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ ... 5000p.html )
And with the latest BIOS update its supports, or should support some additional CPUs. Basically the 7976 -xxx M1 is based on the same board.
The 7976-LBU was shipped with a pair of e5430's. Anyhow contacted IBM locally... it turns out that VRMs do fail after a while.. So ordered a
replacement part.

Fitted a pair of 2.66 GHZ X5355's 65nm and TDP of 120W
Had to do a downgrade due to VRM limitations. X5365's require 150W each
However: Added another 6GB of RAM set to mirror mode, updated firmware, PSU 12v RAIL TAP and an AMD/ATI Radeon 5870

Heck i recall buying the Solaris 9 box set with cds and DVDs... though the DVD not being bootable (even after upgrading Open Boot to 4.13.x) on the Blade 1k.. and now I'm tempted to install Openindiana grrr

edit: there is a work around for those who experience issues with the Toshiba DVDROM drives in the Blade 1000's . Firstly update OpenBoot , to the latest version possible (111292-17.zip Google it) Secondly, obtain the Toshiba 1401 DVD drive (Sun 390-0025) firmware.
Ensure that DVDs are written in compatibility mode, XA2, DAO and a maximum recording speed of 16x (DVD+R) (Used CDBurnerXP)

Well it is a dual display setup, and running a second graphics card really helped while using Maya/Blender on the one screen , and Photoshop/combustion etc on the second.
Hacked together two Apple PCI-E power cables to power both cards.

The added video memory in this configuration proved to be quite beneficial.

A very nice machine indeed, and still pretty fast compared to some of its more modern cousins.
I recently upgraded one of mine to a dual R14k600 and still looking for a DCD option... though I'm
still pretty happy with my Sgi branded 21inch Sony CRTs

My only gripe with Illumos is the lack of video buffer support especially some of the XVR series, but hopefully some bright spark will figure it out and provide an actual patch or package

No luck and tried that before, a few times. What is strange is that it was fine while testing openindiana and BSD,

but it worked for a short while and reverted back..... upon further investigation I discovered that the second cpu had cache errors.. so replaced both 900' with 1200's
