It turns out that when reset, the WD33C93 defaults to a SCSI ID of 0, and it was simpler to leave it that way... -- Dave Olson, in comp.sys.sgi

Resurrecting two old sgi *names* doesn't mean much, or does it? As we all know, currently SGI as such isn't even a zombie - it is simply dead. Period. However, should they come up with new boxes worth once more to be called SGI, I vote for naming them "MAGMA" initially...

You might find DOGMA is a better fit.....

Surely, you consider your comment funny, but pray tell me - are you always that cruel? Does your cat know why it got kicked because of your dissatisfaction with this thread, and you are supposingly the master of her world? Maybe you need to get occasionally kicked yourself to understand *her* world properly... ;)

I'm sorry, it was merely a joke. I don't have a cat, and if I did have one, I'd never actually wish any harm to it. I sometimes forget that on the internet, especially on an international board such as this, humor doesn't quite come across as intended!

As only the first two letters are different, I see no problem there :D I simply wish we get back genuine SGI boxes *regardless* of how they are named, though...

Ok - now that we know that no cats, real or imaginary, have been harmed in the making of this thread, where were we?

My bet for the next zombification will be a terminal capable of displaying 64 colors <unsubstantiated rumors are it's actually a rebranded Wyse 370>. The marketing guys have already dubbed it Onyx5, with an internal project code name of Maui-Wowie <a virtual nod to honor the original Kona project, but updated to reflect the inspiration for the current marketing strategy>.

Hmm, this reminds me that quite some time ago I compiled and utilized a piece of software called "Hyperbole". However, as I didn't like it at all, I surely removed it from my box almost immediately... ;)
