The collected works of nongrato - Page 4

Working together with a friend of mine on making her portrait in 3D. And no - in reality she doesn't have a nose piercing or that weird haircut.

R14000 600MHz is roughly comparable to a 2.4GHz Intel CPU

This guy is saying bullshit.

"Heartbleed" has nothing to do with the Linux kernel.

I still hope to bring back to life my old EMXI Octane. I miss that Personal video board thing, webcam and other fun stuff.

by the way I replied in your old thread:

Hi, everyone! I am proud to introduce my first VRML scene created completely on SGI hardware. Modelling is done in Maya, animation and scene assembly in CosmoWorlds. The scene can be accessed at:

http://sgizone.co.nf/haunted/

Important! In order to view the scene, VRML browser plugin is required(CosmoPlayer, Nexternet Pivoron). On a modern Windose PeeeCeee the scene can be viewed with Cortona3D viewer although its not recommended.

Tested under:
IRIX 6.5.30f, Netscape 4.8, CosmoPlayer 2.1
Windows 2000, Internet Explorer 5, CosmoPlayer 2.1.1
Windows 7, Firefox 41, Cortona3D viewer

Did anyone actually get to try this in action? I could make a video demonstration if no one wants to mess with installing VRML plugin.

I put a few more easter eggs in there. Did you find them all?
A couple spots are serious slideshows.

Yes, I tried to keep models as low-poly as possible, but still animation is not super smooth even on core i5 with geForce gts 250. Looks like a limitation of VRML technology.

man, your commentary rocks!

here is also my video showing easter eggs you missed:

vishnu wrote: What version of Maya did you use?

6.5.

Probably could be done in any modelling software, but Maya can export models to vrml.
:Octane2: :320:
Not likely OS/2. But Win3.x and Win95 (Sunpc ver 4.2 required) are proven to work.

Finally got a front flap for my Octane2, thanks to Ian!

Doing room planning with Maya is like hunting squirrel with a howitzer, but who cares? :D

thanks, but you don't need to leave the cart.

It's not 100% compatible with CosmoPlayer: different global light rendering, different collision detection.

A demo version is available on Hotmix CDs:

Thanks! Took me one evening in Maya.

How long does it take to render it on your setup?(and what is your setup by the way?)
