Oh, California, oh, the Bay(watch?) Area. In my head I am already thinking at some lifeguards blonde girls. Marisha Ray has been catch there in a few pictures, performing the cosplay action figure of someone in red swimsuit, maybe a lifeguard from Baywatch 2017, the new movie. But she can't be the cosplay figure of Pamela - OverSize - Anderson, since Marisha has smaller sine :D

so, I have two neighbor-girls. The one on the next door is an artist who aims to paint skulls, bones, and snakes. The one at the end of the street, in front of me, is a fitness-top-model who aims to have her face on covers. None of them is famous yet, as well as I haven't yet obtained a date with none of them.

But MissFit yesterday said - You are a nice guy, so I will give you a date if ... you show me an unbreakable record in sport, something shocking may persuade me to give you a chance -

Oh, interesting. A chance, eh?

Sport records, eh? Let's checkout possibilities. She likes football players. I am not. She likes basketball players. I
am not. She likes beach volley players. I am not. She likes olympic swimmers. Well ... I am a decent swimmer at the swimming pool, I already have a swimming-pool card, and I usually catch the attention of lifeguards, but for different reasons (especially when I risk to drown, due to a cramp to your legs. It happened, but it was not like in Baywatch).

So, apparently no chance, but! Today I showed to myself I can run faster than usual on my road-race bicycle! Even faster than a fsck, as I was able to reach the unbelievable speed of fifty nine km per hour, and keeping it for two hundred and fifty three seconds.

Then muscle on my legs start to brake as they were made of lead, so I had to reduce the speed as keeping higher than usual was going to make me to explode. Not enough yet to shock her, just a fraction of the round trip around the lake was faster than usual, but hey? Good possibility in progress!

What about you? Some funny sport-record tale?

This was done by gEDA on C8K with linux/HPPA :D :D :D

Thanks. Creating packages on gEDA is simpler than on KiCAD, but the creating a decent preview involves a lot of interactions between the CAM processor (with a photoplotter and a drill machine in mind, gerber files) and imageMagic (gimp), plus a lot of manual operations passing data through a lot of python-scripts. E.g. holes are placed using the drilling-machine file, applying a dark circle filled with solid black, while all the gilding along the solder pad points is done by a gimp's filter which takes coordinates from one of the gerber files.

Next time I will just use "gerber view", even it the quality of the preview is not so good.

Creating a PCB is not an easy task and there are many ways for a fab house to mess it up. The above PCB is dual layers, without vias, it might be done at home but I am going to outsource the manufacture of all my PCBs, which is good since it saves your time, but you also need manufacturer's constraints. In this case the PCB is simple enough; I mean trace width and spacing are not critical so the might work without problems, but strictly speaking, the final result depends on the DFM (design for manufacture) rules and constraints.

I still have to find a way to include DFM within gEDA designs, so the C8K will be the perfect PCB-designer machine :D

Oh, computers, eh? Thought you were talking about great things like being the week guest for #SignalBoost!, or winning a free invitation pass for #CriticalRole's xxth episode! We've seen the gang dress like their characters, but I figured it was high time to do the reverse

I wonder how strange would be one week of attempts to grab a bite to a delicious slayerscake

A great holiday approaches... take a return ticket and fly away. I wonder what would have been happened if I was the one who was sitting next to Not Jason Bateman on the plane ...

Would I had met Marisha Ray ?!!!?!?!? Sit next to me?!?!?!?!?!?
Oh, sweet dreams are made of this :D Who am I to disagree?

Still wanna impress mom..

jan-jaap wrote: In general, I have the feeling that prices are slowly rising. It used to be you get an Indy, Indigo2 or Indigo for $0 ... $50. I still frown when people ask $200 for an Indy because I'm so used to them costing ~ $25. I pulled PowerSeries desksides out of garages for $25

JJ, sometimes I find you very irritating, as someone uses to be in bazaar. You and he, you both miss that *YOU* are used to them costing, and *YOU* is not the measure of the universe!

Here you look as annoying as the petulant dude of this forum who only writes me PM repeating two thousand times in the same period on HOW GOOD he was in finding a MaxImpact gfx for less than 25 USD whereas e.g. Ian sells it at 900 euro.

So, since *HE* is continuously used to them costing a couple of bottle of wine (not a good bottle of wine), he also continuously assumes that I MUST sell him things for the same low-price although my answer is always the same: do you want my Impact? I want 900 euro for the whole machine, plus shipping. Is it ok? Good. Is it not good? Have fun on those-places (like ebay?) where prices are slowly rising because machines and related parts are becoming more rare, especially in good working condition.

I definitely find it irritating since I tired to hear those "I'm so used to them costing".

VDU, using an fpga + SRAM

Re-done on C8K by a friend. It was a complex process, he said, the original design was done on a Windows/PC with DipTrace, then exported, and rendered on C8K. It's too complex and too time consuming. It's even more complex than the 3D-CAM process used by EagleCAD

Conclusion:
I assume the picture posted in the previous post (which was a planar 2D) is the best I can do on HPPA/linux with gEDA and ImageMagic

Got two offers by neko-members who live in USA ... ups had forgotten to say I am located in Europe.
Well, currently I am on vacation, between France and Italy. Marvelous beaches (and girls) :P

p.s.
I can eventually consider to swap my Impact for a C3750. Well, it's an idea.

mmm, from USA to Europe?
I am afraid the import tax is as expensive as it usually is as when they apply the 22% on the whole including the postage.

Shiunbird wrote: How heavy it is?

Ah, C36xx and C37xx are very big and heavy iron boxes whose physical dimensions are about 450×230×500 mm height/width/depth, and 25kg weight.

Well, it's a relative concept, I know there are bigger and heavier machines, but it's very big and heavy at least for me :D

Shiunbird wrote: I have colleagues flying often between New York and Germany/Czech Republic and could try to facilitate something

Thanks for the help :D
I also consider swapping my Impact for a C3750.
It would be a smart solution.

How many Kg in 1lbs? Why don't you use the standard metric?
We, in Europe, have to take the calculator to have the answer :D

Still looking for this machine.
It's the only one which makes sense to have for me.

( in agreement , I believe /etc/hostname will be "theOne" )

For a similar solution like keeping hard drives and media all inside an external box I ended buying a Tower. It's very expensive, and hard to find in mint condition (and with all the cables and terminators), but it worth the effort.

If someone want to swap, I might offer a maximized Indigo2-Impact for a C3750 machine!

R10K 195Mhz
1GB of ram
MaxImpact GFX
two SolidImpact GFX
one Phobos G160
one internal HD of 40GB
Feet
internal CDROM 2X
SGI Keyboard and mouse (Graphite)

PM me!
