The collected works of zski128

I got green skins in very good condition. I can post some pics later. Do you have any pics of your blue skins? Do you need the black plastic base as well?

Does anyone know what the difference is between the cables below? I can only find the top one so far. Can I just use two of 018-0946-001?

See thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16720804

OK, was able only to get 2 of the black cables: 018-0946-001. Now how do I test this thing? My Octane sees the DM3 card and the VBOB (p/n: 013-2746-004 rev D) has a yellowish light on the fron SGI logo. I don't see any green LEDs on the rear. Are there any test commands in IRIX?

Thanks!
Rich

Well I did find some commands, vbob_config, vbob_flash etc. I ran a vbob_config and it seemed to work, I guess, at least it did not error out saying it could not see it.

The only concerning thing is the color of the light on the SGI logo, its a yellowish color. I though I remembered seeing pictures of one in google image search with a white colored light...

Anyone on here know what the color should or should not be? Could not seem to find anything on the web or in the docs on this...

Ha, been there as well. That machine is in great shape. Nice find! Seems as though the east coast if flush with O2k desksides, would love to have one of these.

What was the reason for the later higher wattage PSU? Higher CPU speeds, more expansion cards?

Exactly! Hopefully this starts a trend for more open formats on the web. I would rather do 100% of my web browsing on IRIX rather than switching to another box. Now all we need to for someone to port Firefox 4 to IRIX, easy right? ;)

I tried two black cables and it appeared to work, although I did not test very deeply. I could 'see' the VBOB from my Octane. Consider yourself lucky that you even have the cables! ;)
