The collected works of hoosyny

I am a new nekochan member and a new IRIX user as I have just purchased a Fuel and now I am gathering all CD's that I might need in order to install IRIX and other apps.
Thank you for nekoware, forum and future help.
Alex
Here is my Fuel.
The M-Audio Revolution 7.1 and DM10 cards are my additions.
The DM10 is a 3 port Firewire card manufactured by ATEN.

I have studied this forum for knowing what to look for, but it was not cheap.
Actually I was just one second late and missed something that looked to be a quad 1GHz Tezro, fully equipped, V12, DCD, DM3, RAD, original OS, property of Autodesk stickers, for 700 USD + 200 USD shipping. Then I was so sad and bought the Fuel for the same price 700 + 200.
To justify the money and not cry for the Tezro, I am saying to myself that Fuel is much nicer than Tezro.
But I should not complain about costs because I plan an important business with it, like enjoying music and anime episodes.

I have not checked if the Firewire card works for something. I think that I have to install some drivers for it.
I was presuming that the Tezro makes just a little more noise than Fuel.
But from what you are saying, Tezro is more like a turbojet engine.

The Firewire card gives some errors on console output. I am writing them approximatively, not exact copy.

When IRIX is loading there are the following errors:
fire_atach failure
fire_check SCLK not started

When I connect a Fiewire DVD drive, there are the following errors:
Firewire PHY_write_error (SCLK not started)
FW bus is looped back in a unusable state.

The ATEN Firewire is not compatible, or faulty ?
The truth is that I do not care too much about the Firewire card because I was reading that IRIX support for Firewire is not perfect and complete anyway.
I have installed WordPerfect 6.0 on my Fuel/6.5.30 and it works.
I had to enter the licence number.
You should have warned me before joining in.
I think that foetz forgot to mention IRIX Development Foundation 1.3

And I am confused if:
IDF 1.3 completely replaces the original 1998 IDF ? or
IDF 1.3 is just an update/overlay for the original 1998 IDF ?
That is true. I never tried to install development tools because I do not have them yet.
But I am trying to figure out what CDs to look for.
I wonder if Audioengine D1 DAC is compatible with Fuel.
On their site says that it uses the TI1020 USB Audio Controller and according to http://www.ti.com/product/tas1020b this is an old USB 1.1 and USB Audio Class 1.0 controller.
I think that the Audioengine D1 has an old enough controller for compatibility with the Fuel and it is worth a try.

In my opinion, the news section is just slightly bad formatted and should be read in this order:

The latest news are: * Due to the high demand, we are considering building a BETA-1 with limited Linux distribution support. It will be supporting the latest versions of our favorite APIs. email us for more details. (Feb-2015)
The middle news are: * The official DR4 release is cancelled.
The oldest news are: * Incremental DR4 components will be made available for testing starting this weekend (Jun 04 2010)
