LISP Machine: MacIvory request - Page 3

Assuming that's so (I can't find any way of formatting the special partition in it, though I guess the Installer must know), I still can't reinstall Genera.

So to answer the above question: you still need the CD, because the FEP .ilod is loaded from it (even if you have the Breath of Life). And the reason I can answer the question?

I'm going to reconfigure it again because 201MW of swap seems incredibly excessive and it's impairing me making a nice fat LMFS partition in the filer, but at least now I know it will work. Final configuration of the MegaLispMac:

- Macintosh IIci, recapped
- System 7.1 (my preference)
- 64MB RAM
- AppleCD 150 1x CD-ROM (300 didn't work)
- MacIvory 3 with RAM board
- Apple Ethernet NuBus board (might change out, Genera is having trouble talking to it)
- DayStar Digital 50MHz '030 PDS accelerator (I had in stock)
- Apple 8*24*GC accelerated video, in 1152x870 mode (I had in stock)

This hobby is too damn expensive, but at least it's working now, and I'm actually rather enjoying learning the Symbolics way.

Oh, yeah, totally. Nothing can go wrong with this plan. I will start with modeling an old West gunslinger.

Then might I suggest Raquel Welch as portrayed in the fine educational film "Hannie Caulder:"

Is it at all insult to injury that on the last two months the going rate for the MacIvory went haywire?

This one sold for $568 in January.
This one from the same seller sold for $760 a few days later.

Those are the same item, and it failed to meet the reserve price both times.
I'm not surprised: if you can see that a seller has unrealistic expectations (based on astronomical figures on other items) you're less likely to grit your teeth and make your best offer.

The MacIvory I was also slower and less capable. It's less common but I don't think that makes it more desirable.

I agree. Less common, and less desirable. It's just about half as fast as the 2. I don't know about "less capable" though.

Where the heck are you seeing it had a reserve?
EDIT: Ohhhhhhhhh. It's in the original listing.
