NEC LCD 1880SX works great with O2, V6 & V10 (with appropriate cable-adapter)

Life is what happens while we are making other plans
Dell 1703FP works great on Octane SSE, SE, SI, V10 with appropriate cable, and O2 with regular PC cable...

it will do 1280x1024 max, at 60Hz or 75Hz, has 2 input, one analog one digital and has a USB hub and 2 USB ports. It also pivots 90 degrees (should try it on the Octane one of these days to see what happens, see if 4Dwm likes 1024x1280).

Ya know, paper is usually taller than wide ... I wonder how we got into the habit of working on monitors that are the opposite ?

Probably since our eyes are horizontally spaced. And probably since monitors evolved out of TV sets. Just my guesses.
it's a bit strange that people report here that samsung 17?T series and 710V TFT's support sync-on-green, but people write in newsgroups that samsung 172X does NOT support sync-on-green. i thought the X series was supposed to be high end? anyways, I'm looking forward to buying samsung 710T which I think should support SOG if 710V does.
My HP 1702 works in 1280x1024 at 60Hz on my Octane2, after some fiddle (had to change to phase clock to sync right from its built-in gui). It does SOG and all I've got is a simple 13w3-VGA-adapter that I bought from deepspacecables on ebay...

I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 213T works out of the box with a 13W3 adapter on my octane at 1280x1024@60Hz and 1600x1200@60Hz.
Just bought a Samsung 940BF 19" Flatpanel from Fry's - $379.00 USD. Works great on my Octane2 V6 Gfx. KVM switch installed also so wife can switch to her PeeCee.
just for the record and since i just discovered this thread: LG 2010P, 20.x goodness. working just fine connected to a V8 at 72 or 75 hz at 1600x1200 via 13w3 to VGA.

Probably moreso due to old film formats than anything else - originally TV screens were round but quickly morphed to a 'filmy' aspect ratio. Also you don't fold open a pair of TV's like a book (which evolved from stuff like scrolls), though I bet if you did a survey here there are likely a lot of people only missing the 'folding' part. :D
