Definitely agree ... had an HP tracky with a big-ass ball on top and three buttons, it was purrrrfect. HP-IL tho :(

Here's something weird - in China we have 418,367 different crappy mice. Plastic ones, not the furry rodents. In the past five years I have seen one trackball and that was in Hong Kong. Should have bought it the instant I saw it :(

Tablet might be even better. I'm saving up - figure about 2017 I might be able to afford a decent Wacom.

I can't speak to the Indigo2, but my Octane MXE runs 1680x1050 great. It does take a lot of vfc tweaking though, and an understanding of what the values are doing.

Has anyone posted any vfo's for this? I'd like to add them to my Depot Resources page.

Ian.

Hmm. But is it worth it? If you crank up the resolution, more memory is needed for the framebuffer, at the cost of buffers for OpenGL features. I know MaxImpact / MXI / MXE can do 1600x1200, but you loose the Z-buffer, which essentially tuns your graphics card into a glorified 2D framebuffer.

I'm curious what 'glxinfo' has to say about your 1680x1050 mode.

Not everyone wants to do 3D. :D

Handy for just being able to have more windows onscreen properly sized without overlap. I know I couldn't go back to
1280x1024, but loads of flat screens are 1680x1050 these days, so it would certainly be handy.

Indeed!

Ian.

PS. Why do people still keep saying V6/V10 only have 8MB for texture? That's just not true. Depending on the screen
mode, it can be as high as 20MB.

schleusel makes most of the .vfo files that end up on nekochan. He's got a pretty extensive list on his server, including some for the O2, Octane MGRAS and VPRO, and even a few for IR graphics.

You might drop Timo a PM to see if he'd allow you to host some.

TriOx has used the 205BW on an Octane at 1680x1050. You could ask him for the vfs file, then compile it yourself.

Also, schleusel has posted a 1680x1050 .vfs for the 205BW here

My vfs for the Dell 2005FPW is here .

OK, seems there are some modes with decent RGB depth, Z ('db') and even alpha available. Good to know.
