You built torpedoes ?
It was for propulsion but I don't know that it ever got used in any torpedo systems. We had a spankin' CFD model of it, that we wrote in fortran on our MicroVAX 3100. We only just retired that thing a few years ago. The computer not the code... 8-)
I had been waiting for our law school finals to be over before breaking up, so Sophy came over last night and we had a talk about our relationship. She cried a bit and insisted that we "forget each other," but there was no smashing or tearing of anything. She left a bunch of stuff here which she insists I keep. Well, that's that, I guess.

Maybe :) I've known of several cases where they didn't actually give up for years. One just got married to her prey about three months ago. Took her twelve years but she succeeded. :P
Hamei, I've been meaning to ask - are public tantrums commonplace in China? There were a couple well publicized YouTube videos mentioned on CNN recently of Chinese women completely losing it, crying, screaming and kicking on the floor like babies. One over missing a flight and another over soup. Just amazing! :)

Man, I've never had the pleasure of being stalked like that - I usually get the "I should have listened to you" talk about 3 years down the road when they're all tied up in some completely avoidable drama, or married with two kids, those being the baby and the daddy. Well duh... turns out fantasy fades to reality pretty quickly, while reality is a constant.

(And a note of warning: Guys rarely change - unless they've had blunt head trauma. Don't think that you have the power to perform this miracle unless your prepared to wield a frying pan and go for the random outcome. And not one of those tinny french omlette kinds of frying pans either, they don't have enough mass, you gotta go all ode skoo on this one...)

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise... sure hate the speech though.

Well, glad to hear it went mostly without incident. As far as Chinese women throwing tantrums: my wife is Chinese and she is more cool headed then I am.

The stalking aspect I can't say I have witnessed.

best of luck.

Dr Dave, you wouldn't last a week. Plump juicy gazelle, pride of hungry lionesses. My money is on the lionesses. They are awesome in action.

AJ, I am surprised you got out with your life.
heh - I'm like 6-foot-2 as well... they better know how to jump high.

You have a sample of one. There are about eleven million right outside my window here.

Yeah, I must admit my sampling is quite narrow. Just my wife and her sisters and cousins. Of course they are all in the US, so they have been Americanized. I know from what my wife tells me that things in china border on barbaric when it comes to mere social interaction, but I think her viewpoint may be biased by her leaving quandong at 8 years old and not really having much interaction with her relatives over there.

Oh well. I am done with women anyway. The answer to the 4:15am question "Dear, if I die, will you marry again?" was answered as NO.

:D

The trouble with a small sample is that if you get an extreme for a sample, you can get really far out in left field. A sample of one could be Kenny Stabler or Nancy Pelosi or Ayn Rand or Charles Ng or Edward R Murrow. One would get totally different ideas about foreigners from a small number of examples ... people vary a lot even within a stereotype.

To be honest, even i would not say barbaric. Well, not usually. Right after being run over on the sidewalk by some jerk on a motor scooter I might :) but normally, not barbaric. Just very very different. Some things actually better but others, less so. Guangdong is generally more like the West than areas farther north or west..

There is a lot to be said for a Boston Terrier :P
Point taken. At least you can house-break a puppy!!!! haha!!! :D

Wish I could get my wife and kids to pick up after themselves. :D

take care,

HAHAHAHA!!!

This one is for you, Hamei!
Oh dear, that was sad. I would have just walked away and left her to the police. But then again, I was raised by parents who were a couple of American Judeo-Christian Midwestern farm kids who would have beat me senseless for doing that. :D

Going to call my Dad later and thank him for spanking me all those times!! haha!
