and this one is often faster than the competition as well. admittedly most mountain bikers around here are a bunch of middle aged guys with expensive carbon bikes and too much fear to properly rip through the woods.

you can see my stomping grounds here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUgbVW2Jrzk but this video was intended to demonstrate the inadequacy of the camera more than anything else. (I tried to be careful but the camera mount broke after about half an hour anyways)

Man that's a tall frame, guardian, you must be seriously elongated not to suffer acute groin strain straddling that... :-) Always loved the look of downtube shifters, though I've never used it. Best shifter/derailleur combo I've had was the Sram X-9 for a "street" mountain bike I put together from parts (low frame, wide bars, far-too-high-end bits and hookworm tires); incredibly smooth. Sadly that bicycle is in disrepair since I can't afford to keep it maintained and it's languishing on my balcony :-/

Anyway, back to your regular programming...

Typical dutch.. You know... Elongated... It is a verrrry fast bike  I like it more than the current trend of a tall cyclist with a tiny bike and 2' seatpost.

Think it's getting to be that time of year again, riding to work... Too nice outside to be stuck in a metal box!

Had a lovely romp in the woods this morning, I ran 14 miles yesterday so I was too sore to stay all day :(

edit: downsized images since they were originally uploaded from my phone.

^ nice ride, muddy waters :)
You all have always had a picture of me. My avatar is a scan of my actual drivers license photo. I had to stand inline looking like that for more than an hour for that shot. It always gets a double take when going through security at the airport.

They're not a bad sort, just misunderstood; although is being half understood and something repulsive, better than fully understood as something worse.

Ok, you've already seen my ugly face in deBug's farewell post. Here I am at work in the electrical departments technowiz room hard at work hacking an old Honeywell Logic Manager. The factory is controlled by everything from early 70's stuff to brand new gizmos which makes life quite interesting sometimes.
If I can't fix it I can fix it so it can't be fixed.

Here's me visiting the Bovington tank museum while on holiday last month,
and the coolest road-sign I saw while in the area. :D

Ha ha I forgot all about this thread! Pic of me after the best golf shot I've ever hit in my life, from 258 yards (234 meters) to here. Yes, I'm chomping on a celebratory cigar. No, I did not make the putt...

The first rule of the celebratory cigar, is that you should always set up the grounds for a future achievement which will obviously need to be celebrated with a cigar. Don't kill too many birds at once with your stone!

That's why I torched that baby up before I rolled the putt! I missed the eagle but I did two-putt for birdie. Hence celebratory cigar number two...

First time I ever played golf (aged 12 IIRC), very first hit of the ball, it landed only about 2' from the hole. :D
Brodick Golf Club, Isle of Arran, 1982 or somesuch. I was somewhat chuffed. After that though, never played
golf again I think.

That's practically heretical coming from a native Scotsman!
