The collected works of maverickbna

You may be interested in the m0n0wall and pfsense projects. They're both embedded distributions based on FreeBSD.

They should work on a P133, but I haven't tried it on that old of a system. I have a converted thin client running m0n0wall based on a Geode 300MHz processor.

It may be worth a try. Good luck in whatever you choose.

You're referring to FC-AL, Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop. It's an interface more commonly used in SANs.

You can go to sunsolve.sun.com and get part numbers for Fibre Channel hard disks from the Sun System Handbook for your Sun Blade workstations.

If you're still using this system with this graphics card, you may be interested in finding out that a developer in the Illumos (the kernel formerly known as OpenSolaris) has finally released a fully working SPARC version of OpenIndiana, with OpenXsun, open-sourced drivers for the Sun XVR framebuffers.

I will installing it on a Sun Blade 2500 Red that I have had sitting in a corner shortly.
