SGI added the link from freeware.sgi.com to Nekochan back when IRIX 6.5.30 came out, August 2006. It was discussed here in the forums at the time.

I don't think that there was any need to edit your post. It's pretty clear that Oracle's acquisition of Sun has not been a good thing for many Sun customers, and it has been quite a bad thing for Sun hobbyists.

Well Harry, the red head is a Welsh unmarried woman who happens to be the prime minister of Australia who only got the job by stabbing an ear wax eating moron in the back. The ear wax eating moron, who got thrown out of NY stip joints (thus the reference in the song "you blew it at strip joints, hey thats cool I know I did") did not get his tax on air through parlement. But the red head looks a shoe-in to tax the air, and cripple all industry in this country.... and that one of the more sane things they are doing. Meanwhile the navy can not protect the nations boarders from two men in a leaky fishing boat (about 3 a week).

The blond was a serious journalist who became a politician, and came out as really a complete fruit loop.

That's the free Supportfolio account. SGI killed all the IRIX developer programs, including Developer Online (which got you access to all patches and m-stream IRIX in return for building some IRIX programs) and Developer Plus which got you MIPSpro and discounts on HW if you had a commercial concern building IRIX apps. This happened a while ago, right about the time of the second bankruptcy/buyout.

I still take what few opportunities arise to chat up SGI where it makes sense, because I very much appreciate the fact that TechPubs and some downloads are still available. Certainly willing to give them some exposure and good will in exchange for this support.
