Hi all,

I have 2 questions.

I tryied to install a compaq 3003 spaceball (latest xdriver) with my Octane (irix 6.5.27). During installation the driver detects correctly the spaceball on serial port 1 but after I have a blank window in xdriver control windows (can't see the test cube). Is there something to do before installation or something particuliar in installation?

Is there a way to use it in blender ?

Hi there,

I tested it with my Octane/R16K/2Go ram/V12 and it runs well.
I did a rendering and that was ok (test.blend). I will continue tests.

Hi there,

I changed my old but very good CRT for a new acer p243w LCD (24", 1920x1080 max res).

When the octane boots, the display begins to flicker, something like one image per 1 or 2 second. It does not stop when logged in. But the image I can see is quite good !

I tried to change display properties (different resolutions and frequencies) but didn't manage to stop the flickering (except killing my vision).

I do not understand what happens. The display on my CRT was quite correct.

My config is:

Octane/R16K 600MHz/2 Go ram/V12.

I use a 13w13-HD15 adapter.

Any idea ?

Many thanks for your replies.

I have an adapter I used formerly with my sun ultra30. Strangely, I used it with my Octane/19"CRT without any problem.

Sometimes, I see adapters on ebay but I can't know if they can do with my LCD monitor.

Hey, if someone has a spare adapter to sell, I am interested !

Hi,

I have a spare V6 board.

Is it possible to mount the V12/V6 together on the same XIO carrier and have a dual display at different resolutions for each board ?

Yes I can ?...

My config: Octane2/R14K 600Mhz/2Go/V12/xbow 1.4/Irix 6.5.27.

Ok, I can forget this.

I have also a spare ESI board, but I think that V12+ESI configuration is much more difficult to set up...

Hi,

I revived my old ultra 30 and I would like to install a sunpci card, but I need to upgrade the openboot firmware to the latest version.
On oracle site there are no more patch files to download (rip sunsolve...).

Where can I find those files ?
