The collected works of VeKTeReX

Anyone here have any info or screen shots of any Hash products (Animation or the older Playmation) running under IRIX? I have a very vague memory of them listing something for IRIX in a mailer years back, but Google doesn't come up with any references. An email to them confirmed that it did exist but also that that's about the only info any one there had.

Just curious as i liked the old app under Mac OS,

Can't be included into nekoware due to gcc, but a working tardist would be greatly appreciated.

Not quite true. The boinc/setiathome I contributed to nekoware was built (with exception of libfftw) using gcc.
While gcc is not encouraged, if gcc is the only compiler that will work (which can be the case) then that is what you use.

Nik.

I was unaware of that, but it's understandable. Thanks for the correction.

Responding to this post a few months late, but i have wondered about Prisms as well, for quite some time. It's very difficult to find any info on Prisms, it's hard to even find a mention of it. I have an obsession with old 3D apps (i'd kill for an IRIX copy of Animation Master / Playmation). If my memory serves me right, a lot of the stuff that was considered new when 3DSMax came out back in '96 actually came from concepts already in use with Prisms.

If anyone has any information regarding Prisms at all, there are a few of us who would genuinely like to hear about it.
eMGee, would you (or anyone else here) happen to know the "operating" years of Prisms (i.e. when was it first released and what was the date of the last release)?

Many Thanks

I took a look around at stuff in the Debian repositories during my last Linux experiment and it seems like everything there is either a full-scale Sibelius-style sheet-music notation program or a "because all anyone will ever want to do is techno loops!" FruityLoops clone, and all of them weighed in at obscene sizes...you'd think for a standard that's as old as the Commodore 64 and requires less than a 38.4Kbps serial connection, there would be some less ridiculously bloated software available.

I like SEQ24 for simple stuff on Linux. To some degree, it emulates the older eight track hardware sequencers. Not sure if it could be compiled for IRIX, but it might be worth a shot. Nice synth collection BTW.
