I've had my Octane for only a few months and really haven't used it more than a couple of hours. Can an Octane be dual headed with a pair of SE cards? There have been some SE cards on ebay for a few bucks and I would like to experiment a bit.

Dual heading an Octane
two SE cards will work just fine. I remember someone installed three, but this is not supported (but seems to work).
Three?! Now that would be awesome. I wonder if three SI cards would work.
BTW, can you mix SE and SI cards?

Yes, you can mix I and E series cards. I have a MXI and SE card in my octane at home.

So, does anyone anyone know of applications made for dual display? I just made a SI/SE mixed system and want to test it. Also, can one "span" monitors rather than have individual displays?

Yes, it's called 'xinerama'.
To enable it, just do a 'chkconfig xinerama on' and reboot, if I remember correctly...
