SGI: Video

Whats on the other side of your VBOB..?

I am wondering how people use their VBOB and what is on the other side of it.
What video hardware (monitors/input sources/etc/cameras) do you use with your SGI?
This may have been cover in the past but I am wondering what people are using now.

one solution could be a aja hi5 converter box, that eats the hd formats from the vbob and gives it to i.e. a hdmi hd projector.

My VBOB isn't used much at the moment, but i use my Onyx2 for capturing old skate and bmx videos i still have as VHS. I convert them and hope to conservate them for the future ;)

I attached a BlackMagicDesigns analog to sdi converter which really has superb quality (as far as superb can be for VHS). I also use it for getting output from my digital tv recorder, i think it looks as good as a dvd...

What's that under the monitor, a disk array?

Wanted : GM1 board for Professional Series GT graphics (030-0076-003, 030-0076-004)
It's a stone array with 36gb scsi disks. Runs with DB9 fibre channel. I got it with the rack last month  Works fine, just the dongle for the still installed fire is missing :(

How would you respond to an email like this ...??

Hi R, hope you remember having a phone conversation with me late last year regarding IRIX boot problems I had. Well I've finally got it all sorted out now. I've installed all the 'xtdigvid' software etc and all seems to work ok on my Tezro, but I seem to be having some trouble with the VBOB (DmediaPRO) box.
I have wired it up according the the book I have and seem to be able to test and reset it from the Tezro, but I can't seem to get a picture to route through it. Do you know any quick commands that I could use (logged into the vbob from the serial port) to do a quick configure of the VBOB?

Also, I seem to be missing the 'Breakout Cable' that connects to the PCI card on the back of the Tezro via a DB15 pin to 4 BNC's suppyling R,G,B and Black!

This is from someone I asked to join the forums and post their problems here. So far, it seems easier to just email me about.

I have no time and even less patience these days.
