What Firefox/Thunderbird addons are you using?

It becomes more and more difficult to find working addons for our old firefox/thunderbird versions. I am planning to add the most common extensions to the nekoware packages. I am using:

firefox: Adblick Plus, German dictionary, NoScript
thunderbird: Mail Redirect, German dictionary

What are you using?

This is slightly OT,

I'm using the http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm on IRIX and it really helps making FF3 even more usable.

SGI - the legend will never die!!

No-Script 2.6.6.8rc1
Chatzilla 0.9.86

Firebug was working but I ditched it. It does work but seems like a huge resource hog

Also have a proxy that blocks out a lot of advertising crap, which helps. Same idea as Geoman :D

Two more items that might be relevant :

gtk 2.13.2
freetype 2.5.2 w/subpixel rendering

also

Plugger 5.1.3, got about half the plugins working as helper apps

libivplug works but not too many people put Inventor files up on the internet

movieplayer plays some movies but not all

java 1.1.1c, not that much Java 1.1 out there

ProductView Express, which does not work but claims it does :(

SQLite Manager 4.8.1.8 also works - but I'm not sure I really want to see how much data is being collected by Big Brother back in MinMoz ... people might want to try it, tho. It's interesting.

he said I like it, I want it, I'll take it off your hands ...

A minor update for 2015:
Noscript - 2.6.8.29 seems ok but higher versions fail to install, so beware the offer to upgrade that appears from time to time.

I've not tested with all higher versions, these certainly fail:
2.6.8.31, 32, 35
2.6.9.5, 10

To install 2.6.8.29 via the "get it" page of www.noscript.net , right click on the link to 2.6.9.10, copy link, paste into the address bar, change version number and hit return. The directory containing the binaries is not accesible to browse but see the changelog for a list of version numbers.

I use Adblock Edge, which is a little lighterweight, but on TenFourFox -- haven't tried it on SGI Firefox.

Interesting, because I'm running one of the NoScript versions you mention, 2.6.9.10, on four separate IRIX systems. NoScript 2.6.9.10 is the most current release as I write this.

All four are running FF 3.0.19 from nekoware.

Anyone else running NoScript under IRIX care to report which version they're running?

Interesting indeed, thanks. FF3.0.19 from Nekoware here too, on Fuel (r16k, 700MHz). This prompted me to try again - it seemed to work if Adblock Plus is already installed but not (prior to that) when there were no other add-ons.
BUT despite no error on restarting FF, there is no sign that NS is active, and the preferences dialogue does nothing (I can tick boxes, but "OK" has no effect to apply the choices). Same result on trying without any other add-ons :(

2.6.5.8rc3 here ... maybe a newer one would work but I chased it this far up the ladder then quit.

Ghostery 5.4.1 does not : I force-installed it but no dice. And now that I read about ghostery, they seem very much like the classic extortion racket ... "Real nice little store you gots heah. It'd be a shame if anyting was ta happen to it ..."

Speaking of fireflop ... was forced into updating the Windoze version to 28. Now every ten seconds the effing thing is dropping down a *&^$% window "Do you want to install the Flash plugin ?" No, no a thousand times no and if I ever find myself in a dark alley with the worthless little asshole who programmed that, only one of us will be coming out alive. Is there a way to turn that OFF ?

Do you mean that grey infobar for something like "Allow the Flash plugin to run"? This might work: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... fications/

I think it was "Would you like to install a plugins to show the media on this page ?" but yeah. Tried the one you mentioned, it didn't work but an older Flashblock did. This wasn't a problem with earlier fireflops. Thank you very much for the suggestion.

What a piece of shit firefox is. All those little twats squealing like pigs about "security ! security !" and then they make crap like that the default, which you have to go elsewhere to find some obscure "plugin" to turn off. What a bunch of worthless dipshit assholes. The world is ready for a real browser instead of the crap we're being force-fed.

Where is the much-vaunted Open Sores Community when they could do something useful ?
