Today i recive CPU module O2 r10000 250Mhz, i leave the cpu and i put in my original module I2 175Mhz and work the CPU, i check the oscillator mount in the module I2 is 175Mhz, i buy tomorrow one oscillator 250Mhz cmos smd and remplace when i recive.

Perfect hack the module board I2 195MHz to 250MHz R10000sc 2.6 Vcc.

The next week i recive other r10000sc 250MHz, one r12000 300MHz for test, and couple module indigo2 later i make photo all part how to hack.

Need to put max. 3.0 volt in vcc r10000sc 250mhz work fine this voltage ,support max 3.0 V, test couple day render 3d, and not crash.

Change one Ic, one resistor smd and the smd oscillator.

Multiplicator 4X60mhz = 240mhz but the ic u12 need to hack.

I test yesterday overclock the R10000sc 250mhz to 300mhz and work but after 5 minute crash the prom, possible the r10000sc overthermal problem. Put off the indigo2 wait 5 minute and work to 300mhz.

When i finish all test i post all.

Later i test R120000.

After many many test R10000 250mhz i find very hard problem in speed cache memory, put CPU infinite LOOP and fail after 8 our, i resolve the voltage 2.6V and i put full work the R12000 in Indigo2 IP28 2 day cpu infinite lood and newer crash, work 200mhz very stable the R12000, not need upgrade Rom Prom, in next day a make other test overclock the cache memory max speed support.

Require many mod the board but i have the first Indigo2 IP28 Cpu R12000.

Have quad tezro, i mount silicom image sgi Gb ethernet + silicom image fiber Gb dual port.

All connect to switch 6 ethernet and two fiber in the transceiver slot, the switch link active all ethernet and fiber.

Switch level1 GEU-1629
transceiver GVT-0300

Problem Link Down only fiber, ( link logically down) if connect direct the tg2 to tg3 by fiber full work.

I check the tg2 and tg3 (fiber) ifconfig up

modify tgconfig.option
autonegotation on off
1000_FULL
flow control on off

all combination and impossible to make ping to fiber ip.

Any suggestion ?

in hinv fine i see

if interconnect the 2 port fiber point to point full work, ping ok if select primary tg2 or tg3, the problem is in the switcher i think need partcular configuration.

very rare

i contact support lebel1 and request spec the fiber card and i send pdf, write support need to force the card to 1Gb, in configuration tigon3 i put 1000_FULL same result link autonegotatiom down, but is config off autonegotation and when boot irix link up but the switch link down led, in terminal irix make ping to ip fiber and linking down.

If possible the spf transceiver gvt-0300 not work proper but tecnical support level1 writme the fiber is compatible.

The next week i buy other transceiver spf-3001 and test.

This night i make other test. I think The problem is found in the switch or sfp.

i buy 4 SFP fibre ehternet same result not negotiation and link down, the rare is when i connect one or two chennel fibre tezro to fuel directly full work (not through switch) sync, ping and transfer file by ftp max rate 118MB/s.

I have in the Tezro SSD scsi and in the Fuel Fujitsu 15k.

Resolve the problem

I buy other switch NetGear GS110T install the SFP and full work the fiber, make many test and very whell, i mount array cluster the2 machine fuel and tezro by fiber and perfect work. I need only the MPI library for make multi jobs.

How i find this library MPI ?

Thank you, tomorrow i see in the application CD and i install mpi and mpt, the array have installed.

Tomorrow i rewrite, in the array-view show the two machine if command terminal array who, top and ps read proccess and app running but impossible job cluster multiprocces, before need install Mpi.

In terminal write command

mpirun -np 1 maya

the app run and open but in multiprocess not , when i make render only one machine ??

if possible syntax error in command ?

Hello

Have two SGI, Tezro quad and Fuel 700, i interconect the 2 Sgi by switch in fiber 1Gb, make array, the two machine found and view in aview app, i intention to use the 5 processor for make render in maya.

The problem is when i write in terminal
mpirun -a myarray -nt 5 maya or any-app

same result not work only run in my local macine, quit the app and report error

" could not run executable "

Any solution ..???

In Irix is possible run one App in one or more machine in parallel for render or intesive calc ?

Make cluster in array my two macine show 5Processor/12GB ram for make ??? for make any Job ???

In 2003 my mac xserver g5 and workstation g5 quad xgrid show one machine 15Ghz for any app.

If possible i don't understanding the Irix.

I buy sgi becouse 1990-96 i make animation 3D in Amiga, Imagine 3D and Lightwave but impossible buy one Sgi ( many money), today i relife my dream for make 3D in SGI.

ok, i read the manual maya for find info multi cpu by network, Thanks.

The array work, in aview show 2N5P12GB-Ram but run job in any app installed, alias 11, photoshop, illustrator, eclipse, matador, maya, poweranimator only work in localhost machine.
When i check the array by command ascheck have one error the second node not responding.

Very rare problem becouse one show fine and other check error.

I return, i finish project after many month stop, i need now to mod the eprom Indigo2, add support R12k for my Mod hardware Cpu module and add new Rom. I have new version eprom 100ns access latency, read more fast that original eprom found in Indigo2 120ns.

Now i work for finish Rom add portion rom R12K Octane into Rom Indigo2 impact but i need the rom Octane 1 r12k, if possible dump rom ? i don't have Octane.

Last month i mod Rom in my Indy and load Irix 6.5.26m but have many problem to access memory, error random Irix, hard to mod but is possible make one version OS mod for my Rom.

i spend many money for part, mpt5, cpu, electronic ic, programmer, eprom .... and many time to identify the many circuit layer in pmt5. Many test many broken component, i have now only two module full work and many part for production, i not have time available but 2 or 3 our in the night.

I think possible up the mhz the pmt5 to 200 - 233, but need wast time for make several test.

Now i decide to finish the project.

Next project is Indy R5000 to 200 - 240 mhz. I wait CPU 200 Mhz not the original version 180 Mhx.

Finish prom diassembler and reprogram r12000.

Now work 200mhz and in one week i desolder the cache ram change for more speed 133mhz, speed Up CPU i think max 250 or 275 Mhz
