The collected works of rschultz

Greetings,

the next release of Ayam (a free 3D modelling environment) is due shortly.
Since I feel this is an important milestone in terms of features, stability,
and security, I would like to include an official IRIX binary with many
plugins in the release.
Unfortunately I lost access to SGI machines some years ago.
Could you help me out with an account on a network connected
machine with officially licensed SGI-CC?
HD space needed is around 1GB (for all the sources of Ayam and
libraries needed by Ayam and the plugins).
Honourable mention of your noble deed in documentation and WWW
is, of course, guaranteed.

kind regards,
Randolf
Greetings,

thank you for all your kind replies and help.

I got what I wanted.

Greetings,

with the help of the kind people in this forum, I am able
to offer Ayam1.16 as official IRIX (MIPS3/N32) executable
again.
As the web pages are not updated yet, the only download
location is currently:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ayam/files/

Note that this time a working Rhino 3DM import/export
plugin is included!

Unfortunately, I was not able to fully compile libsnurbs
( http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~tc270/subdnurbs.html )
for the sdnpatch plugin, so there are no Subdivision
NURBS on IRIX yet.

kind regards,
Randolf

Thanks very much ! I downloaded and untarred. It starts and runs on 6.5.30 on a Fuel without any issues. The interface seems slightly different - is there a way to separate the menus from the views like in the previous version ? Couldn't find anything in the preferences.

I'm anartistic so can't tell you a lot more than that.

Thanks for trying!
Even the oldest versions of the source use "-tearoff 0"
in the menu code, so that you could never separate
menus into own windows.
Maybe you are looking for the "SingleWindow" preference
option?

Greetings,

I have successfully built a new sdr shader parsing plugin for Ayam
with the provided Pixie port. So, you can feed Pixie from Ayam now:
