Powermac G5 11,2 - Harddisk Screws

hi all,

so i bought this mac at ebay but it came with a intel 320 ssd boot drive and without these exotic harddisk screws. :? Anybody know a source for it here in europe? are there any standard screws from the diy store nearby that will fit?

Regular HD screws will work. As long as they protrude a couple millimeters and the heads aren't too big to fit in the channels in the case, just about any screw that's threaded correctly will serve.

tried some standard m3 x 8 torx screws and guess what they fit. did'nt expect that. while searching the web for the apple oem screws i found a seller on amazon who wants $20.- per PIECE...ridicolous

btw...this mac has no airport/bluetooth card. since this is a late 2005 model, it needs the insanely rare "runway" card. anyone here have one to give away?

Just install a USB one. That's what I use. Virtually any Bluetooth dongle and most 802.11g or lower dongle will work.
smit happens.

might be the simplest...ordered an Edimax EW-7811Un dongle.

I guess you can always get the screws for your Mac at the Genius Bar if you ask nicely.

Those work great on my Macbook and RaspberryPi. Very pleased with those little guys.
i guess the hipster geniuses behind their bars dont even want to talk about these "old obsolete" stuff.
