Apple

extern CRT & 13" mbp

Hi
I have an Sony GDM-FW900 CRT connected to my Octane 2, @1920x1200/76Hz.
The 'default' res of the monitor is 1920x1200 - 96Hz maximum (16 : 10).*
To get more workspace, I have now used the first vga input to connect my 2009 mbp 13 inch to it.
The highest resolution I can get there is 1920x1080/60Hz.
On the second monitor input (trere is normaly the Octane connected) the same.
Tried a shareware called x-something didn't work for me.
Is there any workaround to force the OS X to drive the CRT at that* resolution?
Help would be appreciate.

Hi fu,
thanks for reply!
If You find something, that would be great!
I don't know, why I cling on to that old stuff :)

looks like my memory blank is over

i used to use SxitchResX but i also found bookmarks for other solutions: 1 , 2 .

i also used a VTBook back then /w my Pismo, it's a hw solution and not what you're asking but their product line may prove to be helpful sometime

mmh, let's see:
  • warm, 'real' colors
  • position independent brightness
  • more than 1 resolution at full quality
  • 'real' black
  • no shimmer around the screen edges
  • won't quit on pre-boot bios like screens
  • ...

did i miss one? :D

No 'screen door effect', ability to use crystaleyes stereovision, and the badassness that comes with a couple 100 pound vacuum tubes sitting on your desk.

"it's so thin, there's no way it could do 3-d graphics! where do they keep the 3rd dimension?"
