Hello out there. I have had this teal Indigo2 Extreme since about 1997. I don't remember where I found it, probably comp.sys.sgi.wanted back then. It has IRIX 6.2 installed along with some freeware. It originally had the MIPSPro C compiler but that software was lost when I foolishly decided to reinstall IRIX. My apologies for that. I do believe that the license transfers with the machine, so if you can find installation media you are not violating SGI's copyright license by installing the compiler on this machine, but I am not your lawyer and can't promise anything. I do know that gcc works just fine and I never missed the MIPSPro compiler after it was gone.

The machine is in good working order, having been in storage for the past 14 years. It is currently powered up and on my local network so I could get the hinv and other information for this post. I am giving the machine away to a good home. The only condition is that you have to pay for packing and shipping for the machine and the monitor. The monitor is the SGI granite model and includes the remote control. The keyboard and mouse are also SGI granite. Everything is in very good to excellent physical condition and everything that I know to test works. Detailed information is posted below. Please feel free to ask any questions. I don't know how much packing and shipping will cost. I am in ZIP code 58854. If someone in Minneapolis, Rapid City, or anywhere in or near North Dakota wants the machine, we can make arrangements to avoid packing and shipping. Other interesting offers are also considered.

My goal really is just to free up the space in my own house and get my old machine into a good home. You won't find a better 1990's workstation-class computing experience than the Indigo2. Thanks in advance!

SGI-branded CRTs are probably your only option for stereoscopic use on SGI workstations. 120 Hz LCDs exist now, but their timing is different.

don't know about you but i usually don't carry my monitors around once they're in place
i rather care about the picture quality which matters all the time instead of possible obstacles of something i do once in years

I have limited space. A CRT on this desk barely leaves any room for the keyboard and mouse.
