Hardware For Sale/Trade

Forsale: SGI Indy with Ultra64 (nintendo dev) board

I have a SGI Indy with a Nintendo Ultra64 GIO board. It does not have the adapters for the joysticks. The Indy does have cpu/mem/hd, and the HD does have some data on it that was untouched from when this Indy was last in use with the Ultra64, but I make no promises of what's there(plus, I think the juicy stuff was previously on a nfs mount anyway..).

Well, Im selling this - PM me offers. I prefer local pickup(NJ), but I can ship this(do your own research please if you are outside of the USA for shipping, and then link me to the quote and Ill confirm the shipping price).
PM sent.

PM sent :D
I went ahead and logged into it, and I havent done anything day to day with irix in a very long time..so bare with me. Below is a snippet from SYSLOG and also a pic of some output from the board and a demo that I compiled(topgun) and loaded up onto the u64 board(via /usr/sbin/gload /usr/src/PR/demos/topgun/rom).

iris 69# grep u64 /var/adm/SYSLOG
Aug 9 11:35:26 2A:iris unix: u64: board found at address 0xbf400000

It doesnt show up in hinv, but if someone knows how, let me know(I tried hinv -d u64 and I got nada). I do have this in the /dev dir:

iris 70# ls /dev/u6*
/dev/u64 /dev/u64_debug /dev/u64_kdebug /dev/u64_print
/dev/u64_data /dev/u64_fault /dev/u64_logging /dev/u64_profile

iris 206# ./u64ide

What version of IRIX is the system running? I still don't have my dev system up and running because I'm too lazy to figure out what version of IRIX you need ... I know it doesn't work on IRIX 6.5.

Also, for the love of god, before you mess around with it, back up the disk for future generations.
The u64 board doesn't show up in hinv as far as I know.

Irix 5.3 is the default that I have it on. As far as my knowledge goes, it is supported up to IRIX 6.1. But im not 100% sure about that.

IRIX 6.1 was only for R8000 Power Challenge/Onyx and Power Indigo2. IRIX 6.2 was an all-platform release again.

To accentuate the special identity of the IRIS 4D/70, Silicon Graphics' designers selected a new color palette. The machine's coating blends dark grey, raspberry and beige colors into a pleasing harmony. ( IRIS 4D/70 Superworkstation Technical Report )

So it should be 6.2. Thanks :D

I have irix 5.3 on it. I didnt read through the documentation, but the install is easy and it took me a minute to figure usage of some of the commands. I then went ahead and compiled some of the demos and loaded them onto the devboard(using the standard n64 AV cable connected to a old ass commodore monitor). I have the original hd for the unit, with code, etc..and a new hd I put on it which is what is shown in the pics(so nothing special than installing IRIX 5.3, the devkit and IDO and I was able to compile and run demo roms off of the u64). The original HD also has IRIX 5.x on it(Im not sure if it was 5.3 or 5.2, but 5.3 works, so try that).

Yep, it was. I had to kill the auction as I was getting way too many questions about it(I would wake up and have dozens of ebay emails notfying me of new questions), and I thought I was thorough in the description with it. It got to the point where it just became frustrating trying to respond to all of the messages.
As a Mupen64Plus (OSS N64 emulator) dev, I'd love to get my hands on this. I already have the lower-end N64 dev kit (for compiling N64 roms on Windows) which is how we can compile our own demo roms.

Any chance you'd be interested in a trade for anything? (I have Octane2, O2, Indigo, and lots of fibre channel stuff)
I don't think it is still for sale. :/

I would trade it, but not for Octane2/O2/Indigo* - I have many of each. Also, we are within driving distance. Im not sure what's a good trade, but these are things I would be interested in(+/- cash if needed):

Onyx, Onyx2(or a modified Origin2k)

Disk array with 1TB usable, raid protection, redundant power. Drive type doesnt really matter, but order of prefs: FC, SATA, SAS, SCSI, EIDE(what they call PATA now?).

Otherwise cash works, but I don't need to hear any sob stories or excuses why payment can't be until some date in the future, etc.
I am very seriously interested. We can do cash or a trade (I have plenty of the kind of hardware you seem interested in). I am a long time, reputable member of assembler forums ( http://www.assemblergames.com ... they sent me here).

I will send this as P.M. also, just in case this thread is forgotten. Thank you, I appreciate it.
