PI *o*o - Interrupt mask test failed

Hello

i have check the status led, and i have this combination: *o*o - Interrupt mask test failed

so i think my trouble is about the motherboard ! interup controler dead ?

what is your mind about this ?

Eve
According to this link you are correct; *o*o means interrupt mask test failed, which mainboard do you have, IP6 or IP10? If you connect to the serial console you'll be able to see the tests as they occur during the boot cycle, with a 4D/20 it should look something like this:

Code: Select all

Console DUART test                      PASSED
Memory walking bit test                 PASSED
Memory address uniqueness test          PASSED
Interrupt mask registers test           PASSED
Graphics subsystem test                 PASSED

Except in your case, it should be Interrupt mask registers test FAILED

thanks

IP6, i suspect the mobo

i'll do the log tomorow, if i have a PC with serial ports.....

Eve
IP6 has SGI pinout serial ports, you will need to make a cable
compare the third arrangement at serial(7)

I had something like that with a 4D/35 years ago, and believe it or not, someone had the actual chip (HPC?) for sale on eBay so for a couple of bucks the thing was back up and running. I think the seller was 'rborsuk' and I think he's still around.
To accentuate the special identity of the IRIS 4D/70, Silicon Graphics' designers selected a new color palette. The machine's coating blends dark grey, raspberry and beige colors into a pleasing harmony. ( IRIS 4D/70 Superworkstation Technical Report )
Thank you Jan

My system is a 4d/25 (ip6)

I have a interup controller soldered in the mobo...

Weird
