anyone use backup under AIX 4.3.3 to remote NFS?

Just checking to see what anyone else is doing. I rolled out a good old tar backup solution several years ago for a client on AIX 4.3.3 but I thought I'd revisit what I've got there and was trying to remember why I avoided "backup" using - to pipe the output to dd.

Anyone care to comment on backups under AIX 4.3.3?

Other then having never used the mksysb and savevg commands before probably none. I think I went with what I knew off hand but I'm wondering if I should roll out a new backup. The big question is always how to restore, someday I'm sure this box will die and there will be wide spread panic :) . On that day I hope to remain calm and unroll the restore.
