Hello,
could someone tell me where i can find a version of XSI for IRIX who works?
I saw several links on the net to download the version 3 but none works.
Could someone help me ?

don't have a link and it's been a long while but i believe this was running in some sort of emulation. very slow and incomplete and nearly unusable.
if you manage to find it, don't expect too much. :)

indeed the irix and linux versions never were serious stuff. they used something called mainwin to wrap the windows version into ( http://www.mainsoft.com/content/mainsof ... x-overview )

xsi was, is and likely ever will be a pure windows toy. don't bother with that on irix or linux because whatever else you can get for these platforms is gonna be much better

Wasn't this just another mickeysoft dirty trick ? Didn't they buy Softimage right about then and drop the prices really low for the express purpose of putting SGI out of business ? The scam then was "Why would you want an expensive Unix computer when Windows can do all the same things cheaper better faster ?"
