Talking about pov, has someone managed to compile 3.0-RC6 on Irix (with or without SMP and/or display options, doesn't matter).

Actually, the current non-Windows version of povray is 3.6.1, and it's in nekoware-current... :mrgreen:

What we should do is port Erlang to Irix so we can use Wings: http://www.wings3d.com/

The beta (I really meant 3.7 earlier, not 3.0) has a lot of great features, which makes spectral rendering possible.

Beautiful.

I was wondering about that too. What I found was a generic Unix source version at the MegaPOV site:
http://megapov.inetart.net/download.html

Has anyone tried to compile the MegaPOV code for IRIX? Got Binaries?
I found this comment in the INSTALL file:
Code:
================
3. Compatibility
================

This source distribution of POV-Ray for UNIX has been reported to compile
successfully on different platforms:

* Mips SGI IRIX 6.5 with GCC 3.2.1 (g++ 3.2.1 @ mips-sgi-irix6.5)
using the n32 ABI (32 bit)
* Mips SGI IRIX 6.5 with the MIPSpro C/C++ compiler version 7.4
(CC 7.4 @ mips-sgi-irix6.5) using the n32 ABI
