How to change system maintenance password on SGI Fuel - Page 2

WAIT. The Nekogods demand payment in the form of a hinv and photograph. Do it now before you risk our wrath. Especially smj, he's a right bastard when he doesn't get the hinv he deserves.

You mean I have to expose my fuel for all to ogle. Oh well. You shall have your pound of flesh. But a photograph, no way. It steals the soul and I cannot do that to the fuel.
I know this is a year old, but this is easier than pulling the snap hat.
I found that if you unplug the HDD then boot the system and press esc to get to the prom menu.
Press 5 and when the prom password comes up hit enter and go back to the menu.
Now hit 1 to start system and let it fail then hit enter at the boot error screen.
Once back to the menu hit 5 and it will go into the prom monitor.
Once there enter "resetpw" and the password is gone.

I have tried this on several machines and it works.
If the thing isn't on fire it's a software problem.
