If I logon as root, my Infoseek and Manpages displays properly showing the content. However when I log on as myslef, The link is lost. Can anyone tell me how to restore this link?

Is it set for one user and not the other. If it not set for either user then it is not the MANPATH variable.
Otherwise, I don't understand what you mean by "the link is lost"..
What else is different between your user and root accounts..?
