cjk in ff3

Had it working in 2 but apparently things are different in ff3. FF3 is Unicode ? Do I need Unicode fonts to display Chinese / Japanese / Irish ?

Already did Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Language -> 1)English 2)Chinese 3) Japanese no help :(
Do you have the optional IRIX fonts installed (x_eoe.sw.{Xoptfonts,Xopttype1,Xunicodefonts})?
I thought I had CJK rendering running in ff3 some time before or while I started my quest for non-blurred rendering, but I may be mistaken. If you already have pretty fonts for CJK installed somewhere, just try pointing an appropriate <dir> section there in
/usr/nekoware/etc/fonts/local.conf.

I've just stuck Sazanami-Hanazono-Mincho and arphic-ukai/uming in
/usr/nekoware/etc/fonts/cjk and added that directory to my local.conf (the lower two screenshots), and alternatively all .ttfs with non-Unicode filenames from the macbook air I've grabbed out of the trash (the two screenshots on top with the bolder looking fonts).
