IRIX and Software

Tecplot 10

Hi,

I was using Tecplot like maybe 10 years ago when I was writing my thesis. Recently I got an urge to play again with my FEA code and visualization software - I just can't shed my scientific past completely.

I have the software and a demo license, which expired a long time ago. So I contacted Tecplot and offered them a nominal fee for Tecplot 10 license. They said they can't generate licenses for Tecplot 10 and they don't support Tecplot for SGI anymore.

Does anyone know if there are entities that can sell Tecplot 10 and are able to generate licenses? Are there other alternatives?

Soliciting software piracy is against the forum rules. However, I am sure that there are lots of keygens and cracks out there. Try googling "Tecplot crack" and "Tecplot keygen".

Unfortunately if the original manufacturer won't generate a key and doesn't support the software then it is unlikely that anyone else will be able to legally. Generally when you bought or transfer nodelocked software you apply to the manufacturer for a new key.

You could offer them the full asking price and chances are they would still refuse. They just don't consider it "worth it" to bother with one person.

It's not that they won't generate the key, they may not have the ability to generate it. I went through this with Alias when the drive on my Professional Series 4D80 with Alias/3 on it died. I have the tapes, serial numbers, etc, and Alias was more than happy to generate me a key but no longer had the ability to do so on that hardware.
