FS/FT: HP IPF (e.g. Integrity) system [end]

Hereby I'm offering my remaining Hewlett-Packard Integrity rx2620 server and many zx6000/rx2600/rx2620 parts, for those possibily interested.

As far as complete systems go, I've sold an rx2620 about a month ago and I can still offer another one with the following:
  • 2 × Intel Itanium 9015 (SL9PC, released in 2007), “Montecito” dual-core and hyperthreading processors with VT-x at 1400 MHz with 12 Mbytes cache (up to ~533 MHz FSB, per Intel ARK), installed in late 2011 (brand-new out of the box);
  • 24 Gbytes PC2100 ECC-registered DDR-SDRAM (I can also lower to just 8 Gbytes and the ‘official’ maximum is 32 Gbytes and possibly beyond that);
  • HP iLO/MP card, with on-board ATi Radeon 7000 and permanent SSH license;
  • LSI 2000-series Fusion-MPT, with 1030 (53c1030), dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE on-board, with additional external HD68 connector;
  • Intel i82546 dual GbE (1000BASE-TX, copper) NIC on-board;
  • HP slimline stock DVD-ROM drive.
All in a 2U (industry standard 19") rack enclosure, with an intact bezel (hard to find separately), security/locking keys and the latest (2007~'08) firmware loaded. I should stress once more that the processors were installed in late 2011, brand-new. The system is also in a great shape, as you can hopefully tell from the pictures below.

Since it has an IPF 9000-series processor ― providing up to 8 logical CPUs and Intel VT-x Virtualization Technology (along with the necessary hypervisor) ― you can run exclusive features and applications such as HPVM (also known as Integrity VM). It's a fast system, works great with OpenVMS I64 (up to the latest, V8.4), HP-UX (up to the latest, 11i V3.1), various Linux distributions (Debian and Gentoo, notably), FreeBSD and should also work with ― if you care for it ― Windows 2008 R2 and even Windows XP SP2 IA-64 (it worked for me, the last time; I can show screenshots). Of lesser importance, but nice to know: The rx2620, unlike the zx2000, zx6000, rx2600, rx1600 and others before it, does actually provide a “glass terminal” (like for VMS, see the screenshot below).

(* Pictures are now removed, the head[?] moderator asked me to do so a while back. *)

There are many options, too many to list in this thread, so best is to contact me for specific items. I will also create a new thread, with many PCI, PCI-X, AGP, etc. options I have in general; many of which, by the way, should also work in SGI (i.e. O3000-series) and other systems.

For now, these are some of the more prominent and useful (and, notably, largely HP-UX/VMS-compatible), parts I can offer:
  • 650 watt PSUs (I have several), like for a second PSU in the rx2620 and thus providing N+1 redundant power;
  • 3½" Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE SCA80 disks, mostly 10K but also 15K RPM models, along with HP ‘ring’-sleds available (contact me for more information);
  • AMD/ATi video cards such as...
    • Radeon 7500 All-In-Wonder (64 Mbytes), PCI † & AGP ‡ ;
    • Radeon 7500ME (128 Mbytes), AGP ‡ ;
    • Radeon HD4670 (1024 Mbytes), AGP ¤ ;
    • Radeon HD5450 (512 Mbytes), PCI ‡ ;
    • FireGL X1 (256 Mbytes), AGP ¬ .
      HP zx6000-type 1× AGP plus 3× PCI-X riser/backplane board * , either pre-installed into a card cage or as a separate board (e.g. if you should want a card cage with 4× PCI-X slots, for primary usage).
        † These graphics cards, besides the (2D-only) iLO/MP-integrated Radeon 7000, are fully compatible with VMS. (By the way, not too many left...)
        ‡ These cards are notably not compatible with VMS. Which also includes the Radeon 7500 AGP cards, as they're said to potentially give issues with VMS. So, it's best to go with a PCI model for VMS usage. I believe (nearly) all of these cards, however, will at least provide a VMS “glass terminal.”
        ¤ Avoid this card unless you know what you're doing. This card needs additional power, which either needs to be provided externally or from within the system. Suggested only for electronics-savvy people.
        ¬ This card is ‘officially’ only supported by HP-UX 11i v2.3 MT- and DC-OE editions and Windows XP IA-64.
        * This is, needless to say, a requirement for any AGP video card.
  • HP-badged S2io/Exar/Neterion Xframe 10GbE (10GBASE-SR, 850 nm, MMF, LC) fiber-optical NICs, including transceivers ;
  • HP-badged Broadcom/LSI GbE-and-FC (1000BASE-TX and 2 Gbit FC-AL, 850 nm, LC) ‘combo’ cards;
  • HP-badged Intel/LSI GbE-and-U320 (1000BASE-TX and Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE, with two external VHDCI connectors) ‘combo’ card;
  • HP-/Compaq-branded Broadcom VMS-compatible GbE (1000BASE-TX, copper) NICs, mostly BCM5701, BCM5703 and BCM5704 types (a.k.a. “DEGXA” and “DEGX2”);
  • LSI 2000-series Fusion-MPT with 1020/1030 (53c1030) Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE HBAs, several HP- and IBM-badged, single- and dual-channel (typically with either one HD68 or two VHDCI external connectors);
  • HP Smart Array 6402 dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE RAID HBA, with 256 Mbytes (usually only found on quad-channel models, i.e. 6404) memory and battery;
  • HP-branded HP-UX/Windows/Linux-compatible audio card (3.3 V PCI);
  • HP-branded (and some other) slimline DVD±R/RW burner, instead of the DVD-ROM drive.

Besides the above, there are also many spare PSUs, loads of (spare) PC2100 ECC RDIMMs, a few card cages and a so-called “M-cable” (for in the iLO/MP card in rx2600/rx2620 type systems, notably), to name a few things. Also ‘non-operational’ parts and items, like the “Processor Tool” (the ‘official’ tool to lock processors into the socket found in zx2000 [?] , zx6000, rx2600 and rx2620 type systems), stickers, various documents (part number sheets), cables and more. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

As far as one or more possible trades go: I'm interested in an SGI IP59 1 GHz MIPS R16000 quad-processor board (P/N: 030-1989-003 ).

[Update: It's all sold, save for some PCI-X expansion cards and other items.]

• Offering various remaining (system) parts, many compatible with IRIX and OpenVMS AXP / I64 ;
• Looking for an SGI O3000 IP59 1 GHz MIPS R16000 quad-processor node board (for a Tezro).
There are also three [3] Intel Itanium 2 ““McKinley”” (?) /““Madison””/““Madison-9M””-type processor cooler & VRM assemblies, without processors. I also have a zx6000/rx2600/rx2620-type ““Processor Airflow Guide””/baffle. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I do not nead the ‘‘jackpot’’, but considering the time it will cost me to pack and ship them, a little something would perhaps be nice.

If nobody is interested, I will have to recycle them (as they are in the way, boxed). In fact, a general note with regard to this entire thread : I will recycle the (e.g.) PCI/PCI-X/AGP expansion cards, processor VRM/cooler assemblies, etc. if they aren't sold or spoken for by the end of Tuesday. The rx2620 by the end of Friday .

One final remark, or reminder actually: If you'’d like (more) information and/or pictures, please let me know. I can also bring up the rx2620 and show you around with HPVM/IVM. (For instance, already set up a virtualized hexa-node VMScluster, which runs fine.)

I want it, I want it all. I just can't afford it. If you still have this stuff when I get some cash your rx2620 is on the top of my list.

The rx2620, along with a single-channel HP-branded LSI Logic 2000-series w/1030 Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE and two HP FC/GbE ‘combo’ cards has been spoken for. The rest, notably the expansion cards, are still available and will be scrapped if it isn't spoken for by the end of the day.

The (last, remaining) rx2620 has been sold.

Only some parts still remain, mostly 10GbE NICs along with other costly/rare PCI/PCI-X options (as well as some other items; if you need something and think I may have it, feel free to contact me).
