Octane - DCD - MLA - 1600sw

Tomorrow, I should receive an MLA (purchased from Ian) & 1600sw (won ebay for £11.50 +£10 p&p).

I have been researching the issues associated with this setup, and have come to following.

Remove pins 6 & 7 on the DVI cable.
Place 1600x1024_60-1704TPPL-1056TLPF.vfo in /usr/gfx/ODYSSEY/vof/

And that's it????????????

That's the only viable way I found after weeks of trials and error. Maybe there's a better software-based solution but I haven't found it. Also you can test first by unplugging the monitor to prevent the DDC probing and re-plug it when the Octane has booted.

I didn't test, I just pulled the pins, then spent an our getting it all to work.. AND IT DOES!!!

Nearly...

I haven't as yet tested with VBOB and I have a problem, in that, I think that vof is too wide, yet not in the same breath.

My Icons have gone on the right, yet they appear in fm, if I maximize maya, it extends past the right hand side, also the login screen is to the right.

It's definatly too wide, but does look very nice so far.

The answer seems to be so far, 1600x1024_60_ds Perfect everything looking good even after reboot.

It will all go to pot once I put the vbob back in the loop!
